Starting to enjoy our new beverage center after redesigning our wet bar. Unit is very quiet and has been holding temperature for the time we have had it. So far it is a great unit and I'm sure we will enjoy it and entertaining a bit more with it.

We love our new beverage cooler. We can store lots of wine bottles and soda cans. It works great.

I've just purchased my 2nd GE Profile Beverage Center after having one (of two) GE Monogram Beverage Center completely and suddenly die after 4 years. I agree with the comments that the Profile is nosier but for me has performed better than the Monograms, which unfortunately cost more(aesthetics) and don't appear to be available anymore. Before deciding to purchase another Profile, I spent a few hundred bucks trying repair the Monogram. Repairman informed that beverage centers are unreliable and unrepairable so he wouldn't make any guarantees. The repair and Freon refill lasted a week. For the money I spent and GE's reputation, I expected a lot more than 4 years. Since the Profile is still kicking and is less costly than other premium brands, I'm buying another one. I'm more worried about the Monogram that's still working. GE can and should do better with these appliances.

Makes loud noise constantly. Has no compressor to keep temperature consistent therefore having constant condensation and lots of ice on the entire back part of the fridge. Does not keep drinks in back shelf and front same temp. If you leave drink further in the back, they become wet and if you leave drinks in front closer to door, they stay warm. Don't waste your money on this over priced fridge. After purchase, GE gave us the most horrendous, unhelpful service. We waited 3 weeks to get an appointment for them to call that day and cancel it claiming their service truck broke down and there are no other techs in our area other than that one. Never purchasing a GE product again. You will regret this purchase as their warranty sucks and you will be stuck with a way over priced piece of junk with really bad customer service.

We bought this beverage fridge a few months ago and it works really well. Our only issue is that it seems to run 12 hours a day. It was built into a cabinet and there's a good 4" clearance to the wall, but that's what it's designed for. It's not any noisier than any other refrigerator, but 12 hours a day of humming/buzzing gets on the nerves.

We've had the GE profile beverage center for a couple weeks and while we're happy enough with our purchase, I do wonder if we should have spent more to get more features and better cooling.
There's only one chilling zone and the temperature is adjusted by a simple dial. At it's coldest setting, the upper shelf reaches around 44° while the lower shelf above the wine racks can cool down to 34°. The shelves don't slide out and can't be moved, which really should be possibilities at this price point. We considered the Electrolux, but decided a couple hundred more dollars for better chilling, digital controls, and moveable shelves wasn't worth it for us, but we would reconsider if we were to purchase again.
By removing the center shelf, beer bottles can be lined up 6 deep and 7 across. 20oz. bombers of beer fit, but 2 liter bottles of soda do not (they're about 2cm too tall, which could have easily been fixed my moving the top shelf up slightly). Some wine bottles will fit standing up on the bottom shelf, while others are slightly too tall. Only cans can be stored on the top shelf and the manual advises that perishable food should never be stored. The wood on the wine storage racks also is unfinished, which was pointed out by another user. I've decided to deal with them later and simply leave the plastic on for the time being.
We've already had one issue with the freezer that would have been solved by the integrated alarm in the Electrolux. I assume the door was left slightly ajar with the fridge light off, but the temperature in the fridge reached over 60° and the whole back panel froze over. A simple alarm to indicate the door wasn't closed or the temperature has risen would have completed prevented this, another feature that really should be available at this price.
We were also initially upset with the noise produced by the fridge. I've seen other inexpensive models that can be really loud when running, but thankfully the GE is much quitter than those. However, after installation under a counter in our kitchen with hardwood floors, we could hear a high pitch noise while the fridge was running at over 30 feet. I checked and nothing was loose and rattling that could be easily fixed, so I decided to use some Roxul stone wool insulation to mimic carpet and absorb the sound bouncing off the floors and out the bottom of the fridge. A small layer on the floor left plenty of unobstructed room for ventilation and significantly reduced the noise of the fridge. We went from pretty unhappy with our purchase to content.
Overall I'd say the fridge appears to be well made, but not well designed. A few intelligent decisions and some relative inexpensive features for a fridge that's pushing $1,500 would have significantly improved it. Still giving it four starts because it appears to be well made, looks good, and does what it promises in terms of cooling and noise.

This is our third GE beverage center. We have two (one is a wine cooler) at our main house and just bought one for our vacation home. They look great and keep the beverages at the perfect temperature. We have had our first two for eight years and have not had any problems with them.

We did not use this unit for 2-1/2 months after buying it as there was a delay in getting our kitchen finished. When we did turn it on, the door leaked air so we called GE. They responded quickly but it took five visits, three technicians, 3 new seals and two new doors over the course of about 2-1/2 months to fix that problem. Now the door seals, we've been told by the technician we may need to use a hair dryer on the seal from time to time to keep it working properly! Still at least now the door seems to be sealing. Unfortunately, when the unit runs, it can be heard from anywhere in the house on the same floor as the kitchen - it is noisier than our dishwasher and much louder than our fridge/freezer. We chose this unit because consumer reports rated it as "excellent" for noise (or lack thereof). I will be calling GE again to see if there is anything that can be done to quieten the compressor. I have checked the obvious - properly leveled etc. but nothing seems to quieten the unit down.
I certainly would not recommend this unit to a friend.
