Hello Hopeful, This is Joyce from GE Appliances. I will be happy to help! This model does have the option to use traditional baking too. If you zoom into the controls you will see there is a separate function pad for Bake and a separate pad for Convection Bake. Thanks so much for checking with us. Have a good day!

I noticed that the doors do not appear to be totally flush to oven and look 'slightly' open. Any ideas how to solve?

After the oven is used several times the gasket will become more pliable and "mold" itself to the door and oven cavity to create a tighter seal. To speed the process the oven may be ran through a short self clean cycle. If the oven door was removed during installation, make sure it was reinstalled properly. I hope this helps! Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 106 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love my oven Great product had a small issue with oven service tech came out ASAP. Tech was amazing. Will be purchasing GE in the future. May 11, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed!!! When the oven arrived, we were extremely happy with the oven, especially the sleek look of it. However, after only seven months of use (and definitely not daily use!) and ONE cleaning, the inside of the glass of the upper oven has streaky stains running from top to bottom. The inside of the oven itself is squeaky clean. Had GE service out today, who stated that this happens to ALL ovens because of the way they are vented to prevent the glass from heating and causing burns to people. He stated it is a COSMETIC ISSUE and doesn't affect the performance of the oven and, therefore, it is NOT a covered issue under the warranty. He offered to replace the door to the tune of nearly $500 with NO guarantees that it would not happen again. Our 28-year-old JennAir oven NEVER had this issue. Has anyone else had this experience with this or any other oven? October 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice kitchen compliment. Excellent Oven! Had this model installed as replacement for older oven. We went with all GE Appliances in Kitchen remodel. Oven has performed well. It has everything you need and nothing you don't. The WiFi remote is useful. We recently went on a short errand with something cooking. As it turned out our short errand took longer than expected. I was able to access the oven controls from my mobile phone and turn the oven off, without having to travel back home. Didn't think I would ever need the function but when I did it saved a lot of time. June 23, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed... We bought this oven to replace an 18-year-old GE Profile that we enjoyed until the day it died. We went with another GE Profile oven after having such a great experience with the last one. Overall, we are disappointed with the new oven. It has some nice improvements: * Greatly improved lighting * Roller racks * Internet Connectivity to the iPhone app for remote notification and some control of the oven. This has proven to be a very useful feature... However, the negatives have outweighed the improvements compared to our last GE Profile. * Build quality of the oven is not as good as our old oven. The door hinges feel list sturdy. The lower door does not have a uniform gap around it when closed. * The control panel buttons are temperamental. We frequently find that despite setting the timer, somehow it gets "unset" and has to be set again. Adjacent buttons sometimes register false presses if you don't press the desired button exactly in the middle. * The oven takes significantly longer to heat up. Our old oven would heat from 0 to 350 in approximately 10 minutes. The new oven takes more like 20 minutes to reach the same temperature. Higher temperatures like 425 or 450 can take up to 30 minutes to reach. * The oven takes longer to cook at the same displayed temperature. With our old oven, convection mode cooked things faster. With the new oven, whether in convection bake or regular bake, things take significantly longer to cook. Things we used to cook at 350, we now cook at 375 to have them finished cooking in the same period of time. And, they aren't over cooked at the higher temperature. It seems like the oven is cooking at a lower temperature than what is displayed on the control panel. June 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very easy to use I just had it installed today and the first thing I did was make my famous chocolate chip cookies. It was so nice to have things bake evenly again. The double oven it replaced was a 30 year old GE double oven that was having temperature problems. If I had it for 30 years, its the reason I went with GE again. April 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient easy-to-use Contemporary design, user-friendly controls, perfectly even heating and fearures that make sense. April 15, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely to look at Having waited to purchase a replacement double oven until ours was virtually useless, I was immensely excited to have this new beauty. I must say, I am more than a little disappointed. The bake function of both ovens works well, as does the convection aspect. The issue is in the keypad, and in the length of time it takes to heat up. A simple 400 oven can take almost 30 minutes. I believe this is too long. I was told this is just the way it is with it is with this unit. Also, I do not like the countdown timer. It is awkward to use. I feel like I have to settle with these issues, and at the price point, that's just not right. February 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect fit Replaced old GE double oven and love how it fits perfectly with no cabinet work needed. Looks beautiful and works great. When cooling down it blows pretty strongly creating a hit of a draft in front of the unit which took some getting used to April 5, 2016
