As a rule, I would not go by the time frame but turn the refrig on, set the temperatures and place a refrig thermometer in it, check it after about an hour, if it is at the setting you want and the refrig has stopped cycling you should be good to go, if not then you know approx how much longer to wait by the temp showing. This is a very efficient units so I would be surprised if it took longer than an hour.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
This is Joyce from GE. I will be happy to help. When a refrigerator or freezer is first installed, allow 24 hours for it to stabilize to normal operating temperatures. Some cooling should be obvious in the freezer within approximately one hour.
Thanks so much for checking with us. Have a good day!

Answer:
It doesn't make as much as one where the ice maker is in the freezer. Because this ice maker is on the door of the refrigerator, it has a smaller compartment to hold ice in.

Answer:
Not enough and takes a long time to make. Really depends on how much you use, but when the bin in the door is full you are suppose to take it out each time and empty it into an other bin in the freezer. This keeps the space the ice maker takes up in the door to minimum, but as a result doesn't make enough ice.

~ A clicking/tic toc noise can be heard when the defrost timer switches on and off.
~ A click can be heard when the temperature control unit turns the unit on and off.
~ A boiling, gurgling, or knocking sound can be heard when the unit is running. This is caused by the circulation of refrigerant.
~ Gurgling sound in the door. This sound can be heard just after the door is closed because of the water in drain tube trap area. It can last several seconds.
If you feel it is extremely loud or unusual, then I would recommend to have this evaluated by a service technician under warranty.

This unit is very quiet. There is a list in the back of the Owner's Manual which describes the normal operating sounds that a refrigerator may make. These normal operating sounds include a humming or whooshing from the high efficiency compressor, a whirring noise may occur from the fans spinning, and clicks, pops, cracks or snaps when the refrigerator is first plugged in caused by the expansion and contraction of the cooling coils. Also, you may hear water sounds from the flow of the refrigerant through the cooling coils.

Profile 28.6 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 981.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Have had this 3 years. The ice maker and water in the door shoots everywhere and makes a mess. Now it sticks and has to be pulled out to stop it. We have had to have it repaired twice because ice and water builds up under the lower drawer and leaks out onto the hardwood floor. Two of the shelves which are made of very brittle plastic have broken off. My wife and I are older and have no kids at home. The unit is not abused or handled roughly. We have had several much less expensive refrigerators over the years that have out performed this one at a fraction of the price. It is a piece of expensive junk. Would never buy GE again!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LEMON!! We bought this refrigerator in 2012. After the first year it broke down and they couldn't replace the part so they replaced the entire unit. It is now two years later and it has broken down again the invertor board for the compressor went out, the rear water valve went out and the fresh food fan and the main computer board went out as well! I have never had so many problems with a refrigerator in my life thank goodness we bought the extended warranty! I would not recommend this refrigerator to anyone!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MY ONE AND ONLY.. I love, love , love my GE Profile French door refrigerator! I am changing all of my appliances in my kitchen to GE. I have had horrible experiences with major appliances in my kitchen and bad customer service. GE has the best employees, the best customer service and the best appliances ever. Now I must go so I can order my new GE dishwasher!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Features We bought this 3 years ago and have been very happy with it. The only problem we have experienced is that it isn't as quiet as we would prefer. I work in quiet with no radio or tv on so it is annoying to me. My wife, however, says it never bothers her.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very roomy and nice to look at! We just installed this refrigerator less than a week ago. We had to delay delivery because our opening was not large enough....it is large and the opening required is 1/4" larger than the specs online. They did not take into consideration the water & ice lines on the back, so we had to make modifications to our door opening. It is a beautiful refrigerator and very quiet. It does take some time to chill down after installation, but it is well worth the money and the small complications that we had getting it in. Both the refrigerator and freezer spaces are well designed and large and hold all that most would want.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall - love this refrigerator Overall - love this refrigerator. I do wish I would have considered the cabinet depth one, as this refrigerator is quite large. At the time, I couldn't see paying MORE for the smaller cabinet depth one. Energy efficiency, I'm not sure, it's too new. Overall though I love the refrigerator and it's features. Freezer is larger than I expected. Lighting inside refrig and freezer is great. Organization is good except I would have liked to see more specialized areas (for eggs, etc). Also of note is; I didn't expect the sides to be nonstainless steel. My fault for not reviewing this product better. My refrigerator sits out in the open and I don't care for the dark grey sides. Otherwise, I like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great refrigerator! I replaced an older model GE Profile refrigerator with this model. The older model was only 8 years old, but it stopped regulating the temperature properly and dispensing water and ice, to fix it would have been half the price of a new model. I had sworn off GE products after that experience, but there are so many complaints on all refrigerators, I decided to give this model a try. So far, it is excellent, very spacious inside, love all the little shelves in the refrigerator and freezer section. Water, ice and most importantly temperature regulation are going smoothly.
