Hello Aj,
Thank you for your inquiry on the GE Profile 29 Bottle Deluxe Wine Center model # PWR04FANB.

I hope this helps. This is a beautiful model!

Hello Lina,

This is a beautiful model. The Profile Wine center should be plugged into its own individual electrical outlet (115 volt, 60 hertz, single phase AC). and should be on a dedicated circuit. This is recommended for best performance and to prevent overloading house wiring circuits. It could cause a possible fire hazard from overheating wires.
It requires a 15 amp fuse/breaker (no larger size is necessary).
I hope this helps. Thank you for considering GE! Read Less

Answer:
yes they do. You lift the shelf slightly to take shelf out of "a grove" and pull toward you. To your point, eve though the shelves pull out I tend to pull the bottle I am looking at out anyway. I keep pinot's on one shelf, rieslings on one, blanc on another and reds on yet another to make it easier to locate.

We do make another terrific wine center, model PCR06WATSS which come with full-extension racks. The PCR06 has a 57 bottle capacity, versus the 29 bottle capacity on the PWR04 model. The PCR06 is a little larger, but does have the slide-out shelves if you have the space for it. The dimensions are 34 1/8 H x 23 3/4 W x 25 D, while the PWR04 measures 33 1/2 H x 20 1/8 W x 22 3/4 D. 29-Bottle Deluxe Wine Center in Black is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 105.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing! Wine cooler is only two years old, but no longer maintains temperature. It says its one temperature, but is a lot warmer. This is second of these units we've owned. The first was 5 years old when we sold our house and left it. This one just barely 2. Very disappointing considering how expensive it was!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GE Quality and the best product for the dollar The wine fridge is built with quality, stands up well to our other quality stainless steel appliances. It is extremely quiet, looks beautiful and is easy to use. The only thing I gave up with this purchase was dual temperature control because I drink red's and my wife drinks white's. The trade off was well worth it, I still use the fridge for some of my red's. Love that I can lay open/corked bottles on the bottom row without worrying about spillage. The unit also comes with a key lock, and the temperature can be set and locked too....convenient features. The unit came well packaged and ready to plug in. I did a lot of research before deciding on this unit and in the end this was an excellent purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sleek unit I recently bought this after reading the other positive reviews and am pleased with it. The unit can accomodate bottles that are longer than normal such as Riesling from Alsace. It is also very quiet. One thing not pointed out yet is that the warranty listed in the product info on the website is incorrect; this GE Profile model actually comes with a 5 year warranty on the sealed refrigerating system (and 1 year on the cabinetry). You can verify this yourself (and make sure its still true!) by clicking on the "more info" tab, and then on the "use and care" manual. Go to page 15.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wine cooler - my second of this model I bought this model nearly 5 years ago, and it has steadily just hummed along w/o any issues. Always maintains 54-56 degrees. I just recently bought an identical wine cooler, and my only complaint is that 5 years ago it was $400, now it is $680 and there hasn't been any change. I reversed the door, so my 2 units are side-by-side and the doors open opposite each other. Reversing the door took some effort, but the instructions were clear. I highly recommend this unit. I have also owned a high-end Vinotemp (50 bottle) and currently own a large N'Finity (90 bottle) wine cooler. Those are both excellent products, but the GE Profile 29-bottle is very attractive and dependable. Note - my "Difficult to install" Con applies to reversing the door, which took about 45 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth The Money Compared to Competitors After having bad luck with a different brand of wine refrigerator, this one by GE was recommended to us by a family member. This one doesn't do the dual temperature zones, but you really don't need it. We store everything on the "red wine" setting and if we need extra chilling for our white wine, we put it in our regular refrigerator for about 10 minutes before serving. It doesn't take long to cool the white wine that much more. Also, if you have kids, this one has a lock, so you don't have to worry about your toddlers opening the door and leaving it open, and wasting electricity, etc. The shelf on the bottom that holds the larger champagne (sparkling wine) bottles also is great for already opened bottles of wine. It tilts at just the right angle, as to not spill any of the wine inside the fridge. It is quiet, and keeps the temperature range between 54 and 56 degrees F on the "red wine" setting. We have yet to use the "white wine" setting or even the "custom" setting. The family member who recommended this fridge to us has, though, and she says both function very well. The storage capacity is more than enough for me and my husband. For the price, it is well worth it. The only thing I would change about it would be to tint the glass in front, so it lets less light in and so it doesn't have to work as hard to keep the temperature (which saves electricity). This refrigerator is not available in-store. We ordered it online, and got free shipping since they were having a promotion that weekend, and we used a coupon we got in the mail. The delivery personnel were very professional and called with a time window the day before to let us know when they were coming. Day of, they called us 30 minutes before they were to arrive. Bottom Line: We love this fridge, and we recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ge profile wine cooler Easy to install, excellent temperature control.....sleek looking and i've gotten tons of compliments on how good it looks in the kitchen. Overall, great investment for wine enthusiasts.
Date published: 2006-09-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wine refrigerator Pros: Large enough to fit all bottle sizes; quiet; custom temperature feature; humidity control Cons: Unit is tall and deep, so it takes up quite a bit of space Overall, it's a great unit. I highly recommend it. Through all my research, I was hesitant to spend $500 on a wine refrigerator, but I couldn't find any unit that could perform at a similar level for a better price. Based on the number of bottles I wanted to have on hand at all times and the limited locations where I could put the unit in my house, this was by far the best unit for the price.
