I noticed that many of the cook tops that are recommended for use with this oven are no longer in production. We get it that gas cannot be used but could you update the list of induction models that work? Esp. the Cafe Induction?

is there enough space to cook a turkey inside the oven

a thanksgiving turkey is pretty tall will it fit in side of one of the ovens if so which one and what are the inside measurements
Asked by: joni
Hello joni - this is Nancy at GE Appliances. This is a very nice 30" single double convection wall oven. The maximum turkey size in the lower oven is approximately 20 pounds. For any size oven, the food item should have a minimum of one inch air space on all sides: top, bottom, right, left and back wall. The lower oven interior dimensions are: 24" W x 12-1/2" H x 16" D. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

No trim kit for microwave convection oven.

Although you suggested that I purchase PEB1590DMBB with built-in kit JX1530DMBB, the trim kit does not appear to be in stock. Are there any alternatives that can be used?
Asked by: Fralgon
Hello, This is Michelle with GE and I am happy to help. GE currently offers one countertop convection microwave in black. The model number is PEB1590DMBB. To build in this microwave, it requires kit number JX1530DMBB (for a 30" finished width) or JX1527DMBB (for a 27" finished width). GE does not offer any other kit in black that will work properly with the microwave model PEB1590DMBB. Please contact Home Depot for availability information. Thank you for checking.

30 in. Single Electric Wall Oven Self-Cleaning with Convection in Stainless Steel is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 144.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great oven, but one major flaw... I absolutely love this oven. The only flaw is that the heating coils are fixed to the bottom of each chamber, and are NOT on a hinge. This makes it impossible to wipe or clean the bottom of the oven. Every oven I've ever had previous to this one has had the coils on a hinge to lift for cleaning. This oven cooks very well, but get used to having an icky, ash mess on the bottom because it is impossible to wipe clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great use of space I have always wanted two ovens and for me this unit works in the space I have. The larger oven can cook a 15 lb turkey thanks to the convection feature and being able to put pan on lowest shelf. My oven was not calibrated when installed and I found that I needed to add approx. 5 more minutes before using when preheating. Top oven is super useful for most everything and I use it all the time rather than heating up the bigger oven. It does have two racks but when rack on lowest level, it is a bit difficult to pull out so be sure to open door all the way and use the handles.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I have had this oven for approx 4 years and I didn't like it from the beginning. First, it vents... I have had this oven for approx 4 years and I didn't like it from the beginning. First, it vents into the kitchen (maybe this is the set-up of my kitchen, but my old wall oven didn't vent/blow air into the kitchen). And the air is not warm, which is odd to me, so you get chilly if you are the one sitting in the chair opposite the oven. Second, it is noisy. It sounds basically like a microwave running all the time. Third, the heat elements make it difficult to get in there and clean it. Newer ovens don't have the heat elements, so you can easily clean it. Fourth, any spills that get on the door (because accidents happen when trying to pull out the racks) end up on the floor when you close the door. Fifth, the picture makes it look like the controls are easy to see, but they AREN'T! I have to use a flashlight to see the control panel, which is ridiculous! Why didn't they make this light up so you could see what you are doing. I'm just waiting for this oven to break so I can get a different one. I decided to give it 2 stars instead of 1 only because I like the double oven feature (even though the bottom one won't hold a larger turkey, if that is what you are wanting), and it seems to cook my food fine. Other than that, I hate this oven.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great use of 2 ovens in 1 opening PROS: - Ideal for 1-6 family members for moderate to high amounts of cooking, requiring various oven functions, especially when space doesn't allow for 2 standard-size wall ovens. - Smaller (upper) oven is ideal for casseroles and re-heating food. - Larger (lower) oven comfortably accommodates a 13 lb. turkey. - More energy efficient than standard single or double-oven, because it's oven cavities are smaller, requiring less heat. - I've had mine for 5 years, and continues to work accurately CONS: - Difficult to read and confusing control panel. Be sure to have adequate overhead lighting to see controls. Pay close attention when operating controls, so as to not mistakenly operate some of the functions on the upper oven, if you meant to operate the lower oven... a common issue with my household. - Racks are a bit flimsy to slide, and hold heavier items like a 4-qt. cast-iron cocotte w/ lid (dutch oven). Racks tend to bend down and come in contact with the bottom heating element. - Height of larger (lower) oven cannot accommodate a stand-up chicken/hen for vertical roasting. Alternative would be to use this cooking method on an outdoor grill. - Self-cleaning function emits a strong gas, to the point our eyes and throats start burning, and therefore have to open doors and windows. Recommend self-clean ovens at different times. SUMMARY: If you're looking for efficient use of kitchen space, I highly recommend this oven. I wish we could order higher grade racks, that were more durable and slide easier.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Major Flaw This oven is great in that the double oven feature works great. It is a great idea with one major design flaw. All the controls (which are electronic) for the oven are in the top door, which has a row of slots along the top for ventilation and a slot on the bottom. If you spill anything on the oven door (like we did) and it runs into these slots you will short out the entire oven. Fortunately for us our oven was only three days old and GE covered the $600 repair. If you must buy this oven buy the maximum extended warranty available unless you never anticipate spilling anything on the top door.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Those who LOVE Baking! I found this single sized double oven appliance by accident. I loved the concept - two ovens in the space of one. Novel idea! Face it , only 4 - 5 times per year do I truly NEED a large size oven. Most of the time I am baking breads, casseroles, cookies, roasting veggies, etc. With this appliance, I only heat up half of the oven space. We have a separate 30 in oven mounted under our cooktop - so thanksgiving was very time efficient: turkey in the 30 in oven, while I proofed rolls and baked dressing and a pie all at the same time. The only con: I am still figuring out the placement for different types of baking... one oven is slightly larger than the other. Rack placement means racks slice the bottom oven into thirds; top oven in half. This will take some practice or experimenting to fine tune. So far, nothing has burned - everything has cooked evenly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Double oven Fit the old oven spot perfect. Love the oven so far. Cook pizza perfectly every week in upper oven. Also upper oven does cupcakes and rolls great. Plan to do a turkey in lower oven soon. We are only 2 but will do about a 12-14 lb bird.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the versatility Have had this installed for a few months now and am very pleased. We mostly use the upper oven and have had no issues. It preheats quickly, and does not heat up the kitchen as much as a full-size oven.
