I have a short cabinet above so the hinges can stick up as high as they need to.

Answer:
Dear LRymer - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you with regard to the installation of this refrigerator.
The refrigerator height to the top of the case is 67-7/8". A 1" air clearance is recommended at the top of the refrigerator. Because you would not have the 1" air clearance, we can not recommend this installation.
I hope this information is helpful! Thanks for checking with us!

Answer:
Hello,
This is Michelle with GE and I am happy to help you.
The Stainless Steel exterior surface does not resist finger prints or smudges. Although this specific model is no longer available, the most similar model currently available is the PFE22KSESS.
Thank you for checking.

Will the drawers open?

This question is from Profile 33 in. W 22.2 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator in Stainless Steel

The width of the space for the refrigerator will be 38.5 - 39". The left side has a 25" deep counter top and the right side has a wall that is 46" in depth to the inside of the door jam or 491/4" to the door opening. Facing the refrigerator, will the right crisper drawer open enough to access what is in there. I am OK if it does not open all the way, but need to be able to open it part way for use. Will the left draw open all the way?

Is there any problem with the open wire freezer baskets dropping frost/water onto the exposed floor below? Surprised there is not at least a tray underneath - still leaving space for air flow?

Although the crisper drawers cannot be removed when the refrigerator doors are opened at 90 degrees, you can open the crispers enough to access the items in them.
We have not hear of any issues with water/ice dripping through the wire freezer baskets. They do very well.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 35 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So far so good. Just had this refrigerator installed two days ago and the ice cube tray is already full and I did dump the first few cycles. I did not intend to use the filter because I have town water and don't have a problem. I forgot to tell in installers not to put it in and now I'm glad they did. Cubes and water taste better than the last refrigerator that didn't have a filter. I would rather have had a dispenser for the cubes, since they are hard to get to, than the temp display on the dooor that I probably won't use after I get it to the right temps for us. So far I really like it and it takes up less space which was one of my goals when looking for a new refrigerator. September 9, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fine performer We like this model because it does not have ice through the door. All models we saw with ice dispensers took too much space out of the refrigerator. This model has the water dispenser but no ice, so the inside loses no space. The ice maker is actually located in the freezer where it makes sense. The lighting is very good and bright. We have noticed that this model is very energy efficient, probably because of the ice maker location. Can't comment yet on the reliability as we have had it only four months, but no problems so far. The ordering through Home Depot online was efficient and stress-free. No complaints with the delivery which was actually made by GE and not Home Depot. Overall, a good purchase. June 12, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fit my needs perfectly I was a little nervous buying this fridge sight unseen but decided to trust the majority of positive reviews and go for it. I am not disappointed. We replaced a side by side that just didn't have the space we needed for larger items. We have a very small cubby for our fridge and have to look for the smallest available. Love the bottom freezer with its rolling baskets, you can find things in it so easily! The large door bins are wonderful. I miss the ice in the door of our old fridge but it really isn't so bad considering how much space we gained. May 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We really like this refrigerator... We have been looking for a fridge for quite a while. We wanted a big one, but the width had to be smaller because of the space we have. This was the biggest one we could get for our space, but 22.2 cubic feet is quite big! :o) It is a beautiful appliance, inside and out. Everything works great so far, we've been using it for 5 days. We love the extra space we save by only having water through the door. The icemaker is in the freezer compartment and that's fine because we use the water more often than the ice. We recommend this fridge without reservations. August 8, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by No ice in the door Great- but I had to upgrade to the 36"wide. This model only has water in the door no ice. The door is not wide enough. You have to open bottom freezer and pull out the draw to get ice. After 18years of having ice/water in the door our family couldn't live without. If you do not need this feature then its great. But why water only not ice only. Everyone get ice for their drink but they don't always drink water. If you don't need the ice feature you miles well get the one with nothing in the door and save money. But it is a great fridge. February 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Almost Perfect I remodeled my kitchen a few years ago around my existing refrigerator...I couldn't find one the width I needed but the gal at Home Depot was very helpful in steering me in the right direction. I ordered it on line and it was delivered and set up by the nicest group of guys you'll ever have an appliance delivered by. They were professional and pleasant. I love the refrigerator the water and ice was easy enough for me to hook up myself. If I had it to do over again the only thing I would get differently is crushed ice in the door but that was my oversight. I would give this refrigerator a 5 if I hadn't broke the plastic covering on the freezer drawer slider the first time I shut the drawer. I'm not sure if they were intended to be removed or if I really broke it...It doesn't seem to matter that it's gone... November 1, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Larger than I expected for a 22.5 fridge I had a size constraint - the GE Profile French Door was available in a smaller size. Thinking I was taking a chance - I was surprised w/the inside capacity. Always had SS - but love the new White Glass Front Design Appliances. Easy to keep clean and has a crisp look in my all white kitchen. I would highly recommend the GE Profile Appliances. This is my second set. My first was purchased in SS for my other home in 1992 and still working great. July 12, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by No Crushed Ice I bought this frig because of limited space and like everything about it except that the specs said "crushed Ice" but it is not and only cube. So I called GE and was told it is only cube not crushed and that Home Depot made a mistake in the description. I wish that I could have counted on the description to being true. This is disappointing but I like every other feature it has and the filtered water system too. March 8, 2011
