This oven is labeled convection, but is it also a standard oven where when you don't want to use convection you just turn that feature off?

Profile 4.1 cu. ft. Drop-In Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from THIS PRODUCT HAS GREAT FEATURES & VERY STYLISH I PURCHASED THIS ITEM TO REPLACE AN OLD ELECTRIC STOVE THAT WE INHERITED WITH THE HOUSE FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER. THIS NEW STOVE IS BEAUTIFUL & WONDERFUL, AS WELL AS BEING A JOY TO USE! SO EASY & USER FRIENDLY! JUST HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WHEN CLEANING ACROSS TOUCH-PAD AS IT IS SENSATIVE TO TOUCH & EASY TO HIT BUTTONS. (JUST HIT CLEAR BUTTON AFTERWARDS.) LOVE THE SMOOTH SURFACE & NO MORE COILS! LOVE THE FLEXIBILITY OF BURNER SIZES TO MATCH POT/PAN SIZE TO SAVE ON ELECTRIC USAGE. HAVE ONLY MADE 2 FROZEN PIZZA'S IN OVEN SO FAR, BUT SEE THE GREAT POTENTIAL OF CONVECTION FOR BAKING & CAN'T WAIT TO USE THAT PART. LIKE THAT YOU CAN COOK (IN OVEN) WITH REGULAR HEATING CONTROLS AS ALTERNATIVE TO CONVECTION. I WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS ITEM!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great appliance It has worked flawlessly for the last two year. The only complaint is minor but annoying nonetheless: the printed layout of the controls fades away very fast and you end up guessing what to press. Very good at its work however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The 21st Century Oven Reading some other reviews I was a little skeptical but I went ahead and purchased this oven about 5 months ago. I installed it myself and was replacing an older drop-in. I did have to cut the existing counter top opening a little larger which was no big deal. The oven was for our new dream house we recently bought in Georgia so I didn't mind the expense. We replaced all appliances with the best ones we could find. Some issues I read was a trim piece missing on the door so you could see inside the oven. I don't know what that is about because I don't have that issue, it looks fine. Another reviewer mentioned a burst of hot air when first opening the door because of the fan. You do get some initial heat when you first open the door, but that happens regardless of the fan being on or off. It is just the nature of a convection oven since they are vented differently from a conventional oven. You must keep your face back a little when you open the door or you will get your glasses fogged. As far as keeping the cook top clean, we read the instructions and haven't had an issue. It is important not to let the cook pot boil over or cook without cleaning the spillage, but that would apply to any cook top. We keep a coating of the cook top cleaner on the cook surface like the instruction suggest and clean the top with the recommended cleaner when it is required. The only fried food we eat is fish and my wife has a hot plate that she uses for that. Now, for the reason I gave the oven such high ratings. I bake a lot of bread and always have a problem of the bottom of the rolls getting too dark before the tops are brown, but this oven bakes bread perfectly. I've only used the convection bake setting so far. Pies are also done perfectly. I cooked a turkey last Thanksgiving and used the temperature probe feature, again it was a perfect cook. The oven cooked the bird until the optimum meat temperature was reached then shut off by itself. When preheating it displays the temperature progress and alerts you when it is up to temperature, which is surprisingly quick. The 5th warming burner is very useful and the bridge burner is a great idea, even though I haven't used it yet. All in all it is an amazing appliance and I would definitely buy this oven again if I had it to do over. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The range is wonderful I researched this product a long time before purchasing it. When I finally got it it was like a dream come true. The quality is great. The features are wonderful. I love the convection oven. When I baked cookies for the first time they were perfect! The only thing is the ceramic cook top is hard to keep clean. It will just take some getting use to. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super nice range This range was the sharpest looking drop in range that was available when we decided to upgrade our kitchen. Upscale design with the front access controls was very desirable. The glass cook top has a bridge burner which links front and rear left side burners for large rectangular items such as a griddle. The right front burner has a small, medium or large concentric burner that is just great for all sizes of pot/pans. The convection oven with a large viewing window was the game sealing feature. Food bakes faster with better browning results. Great job GE!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! I waited a long time to replace my old drop in and now I'm sorry I didn't act sooner! This oven is awesome! I love the bridge burner option and the warming area is really useful. The inside of the oven is huge and I can fit several items on the three racks.  The oven was really easy to install too. I did, however, need an electrician to hook it up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good product, highly recommend Researched flat top stoves for my newly remodeled kitchen. This product was highly recommended. My second flat top. Love the warming area and the ability to use a griddle on left side of stove. Looks great in my new Kitchen and highly statisified...Love it!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT Love my new GE Profile. It has everything: sleek style, easy to use, temperature probe for roasts, sensors to shut off the burners if a pan has boiled dry. I love the convection oven as I live at 8,300 feet elevation and it speeds up my baking time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
