Can the burner configuration be changed? 95% of all the ranges I'm interested in tout the "power burner" as ideal for boiling water, but place that/those burner(s) in front, which meant reaching OVER a pot of boiling water (or worse, oil) to use the other burners. If the configuration can't be changed, can someone at least explain to me the reasoning behind this design?
Asked by: Jeff
Hello Jeff - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and we're happy to help you. We're sorry; however, the range configuration cannot be changed. Since our appliances have been designed to meet specific requirements, we do not support altering or changing any aspect of the design. We certainly appreciate your comments and feedback regarding the power boil burner being on the front burners. Many factors go into the design of our products and consumer input is a top priority. Your comments are important to us and our product design division takes into account suggestions such as yours. Thanks again for sharing your comments and feedback.

Is this range available for use with LP?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Diesel, Thanks for your inquiry. This is Alison with GE and I am happy to assist you. Yes, model PGS975SEPSS can be converted to use with liquid propane (LP). The LP conversion kit is included with the purchase of this model. GE recommends that the conversion be performed by a qualified service technician or installer for the type of gas (natural or LP) that is to be used. I hope this information is helpful. Thanks for considering GE! Sincerely, Alison

4.1 cu. ft. Slide-In Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in White is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from DELICATE CONTROL PAD The oven is beutiful but the control panel is very sensitive...if I have the temperature set and something baking and reach to my top cabinet over the stove and barely rub onto the control panel, it shuts off the oven and deletes the temperature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from POWERful burners, woohoo! Finally I am enjoying the results with my 12-inch wok. Turns out, it only wanted more heat. I've had the range installed for a few weeks now, & I want to stir fry all the time, it's so quick and everything is seared right. And I have not even used the right front power burner yet, just the large burner on the left front. When you crank it up, it is more than enough. I suppose the power burner is for 16-inch woks :) I am SO glad I got the model with the stainless top, not the glass one. Clean-up is not that bad, considering you WILL have little oil splatters all over the front, including on the touch glass display. I take a thick, damp cotton dishcloth, heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds or so, then just wipe it down; so far it cleans up easily. I have taken the heavy duty knobs off and washed them by hand, too, just to prove I could. That is a very nice feature, but you only need to do that if you have major spatters or a spill. I am concerned about the touch controls in that horizontal position for the long term, so am considering lining around the panel with some heavy duty electrical tape such as scotch super 88, to keep out any moisture & grease. I AM a messy cook, LOL! Take seriously the dimensions of the back area you will have for the gas and electric supply. Because of the way the back protrudes over that area, you will have just that small amount of space the instructions say, & no more. You will have to carefully coil the gas connector behind the storage drawer. The one star deducted is for the fact the weakest burner's lowest setting is still a tad too high for just keeping a small pot warm. You may need a heat diffuser with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GE Profile Gas Oven After all we went through and accomplished with the horror of Hurricane Katrinba; I believe my selection of this gas oven, for cooking, cleanup and the positive control of cooking; is the very best of all of my choices in rebuilding. I tell peoplle how much I enjoy and it is well worth the money. Thank you GE Keep a good item Sandy

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs some tweaking Although very pretty, the decorative top, is hard to position pots.i love the convection cooking, it browns beautifully . The one major flaw is that dirt gets under the glass touch screen. I've had the repair man here once and I'm about to call again. This replaced my 19 year old ge. Profile but the measurements changed. We ended up cracking my countertop trying to install. BE CAREFUL CHECK YOUR MEASUREMENTS [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stove and so beautiful!! We are still getting used to the convection over but it so far so good!! Our meats and our (trial) turkey run came out wonderfully and so golden brown just about in half the time. The stove slides in between your cabinets so make sure you measure correctly. We had a problem with the gas line coming up from under the house. So a plummer had to be called to revise the gas line so our over could slide all the way back. For us, so far so great! We love it..our last one was also a GE but had see it's better days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall product is good Stove burners can be slow to ignite at times. Face of stove appears sealed; but dirt gets under edge and seems impossible to get out., definitely a design flaw. Stove control sensors are very delicate to the touch; sometimes causes things to come on when not wanted; also oven seems to dirty fast, but that could be due to using the convection feature. I haven't used all the features yet, purchased 11/2012, but overall it's good for the money. I do cook/bake a lot, I love the cast iron grates. I'm sure no matter what brand is purchased, there are always things one wishes different after actually using the product. We did need an electrician to lower our outlet to plug the stove in; seems GE changed the back style from our previous slip in where the outlet could be higher. That was an additional cost, and one we weren't aware of until the stove was being installed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best range out there Just had this installed and am waiting for the initial build smells to go away but this range is nice! I replaced a 20yr old GE Profile which was about 1/2 inch deeper .This left a gap in the back cut out. I went to the hardware store and purchased a long piece of marble (cheap) and had is cut to width. Absolutely perfect blending in with our other marble and the white of the range. The range top is nice and efficient. The front burners are closer spaced but I threw on my largest pot and skillet and they did not touch. The options are endless if you read the manual. The top grates almost look curved in the picture but the entire grate is flat. Perfect for moving pots and pans around. The entire control panel even under the knobs is one piece of glass. Ideal for cleaning. The touch screen is sensitive but it's like any smartphone or tablet. The 2 top grates are heavier but they should be. They are cast iron. The oven door has a solid feel to it as the rest of the range. The fans are super quiet too. Great buy and I think I chose wisely. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This range is a great one. This range is easy to clean and easy to use. The oven is large enough to hold all the dishes I would need to cook at one time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
