I am so happy with this washer after using it for a couple weeks now. It's quiet and I LOVE that it doesn't shake when spinning (the AVC works perfectly). The load size can be tiny to very large and it automatically adjusts the amount of water needed for each load.
I preshrink LOTS of fabrics and this doesn't get them turned and twisted - and they dry faster now and come out less wrinkled.
I feel it was a great value at the sale (closeout) price, less than any other site I checked out. It's easy to use without sitting down with the manual (I will still read it to see what other bells and whistles it has).
The 2 delivery men were quick, efficient, courteous, and knowledgeable.
Besides all these working features, it looks great. I would love to have the matching dryer at closeout price - except my current dryer is worker perfectly although it's too small for the larger washer loads (takes 2 dryer loads for one large wash load).

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mike Serious problems - GE terrible customer service
Short story - Machine doesn't work right. Terrible customer service.
Long story - I got 3 weeks out of this machine before it started malfunctioning. 3 times during every load it would just stop. The water would drain and the start button would flash. I had to press the start/pause button to get it to continue. I scheduled the next available service appointment which was 3 weeks out. The technician determined there was nothing wrong with the machine. He says I just have to run the tub cleaning cycle every few weeks to clean the sensors. Then he leaves without doing anything. I followed his instructions and nothing changed. I'm a teacher, and I didn't want to take any more days off for a service visit so I decided to live with it until Christmas break. The machine didn't make it. I pressed the pause button one time and the machine completely locked up. I can't even get my wet clothes out of it. The GE customer service rep told me that I probably broke the lock mechanism by pressing the pause button. She gave me the next available appointment which is a week and a half away and told me to make sure I have a check ready because the technicians don't take cash. I called Home Depot to see if they could do anything to help. The Home Depot rep told me that they won't do anything to help unless I purchased an extended warranty. So that's where I am now. I have completely broken washer that I bought less than 3 months ago filled with clothes that are getting rancid, and GE wants me to pay to get it looked at.

The delivery man hooked up the machine and it powered up, so they left. Three minutes later it stopped and will not run on any cycle. I went to my local Home Depot for help and they said I had to call the (800) service center. I called the service center and got a message saying that "all of our representatives are busy, please call back". After several tries I got a human on the line. She said the first available appointment would be in three weeks.
So, I bought a $1400 brand new washing machine that is defective and I have to wait three weeks for a service call??? I guess I'll be hauling our laundry to the laundry- mat for a while. I just hope the service person shows up and fixes that machine.

HD had a remarkably low priced deal on this washer when I ordered it on line. Now it’s listed at the regular price which is a little too pricy for me. However, if I were psychic, and knew how well it was going to perform, I would have come up with the cash to buy it at the regular price. I have six dogs and they each have their own bed in which to sleep at night plus a second bed for daytime use. This washer handles three fairly nice sized dog beds with no problem. The old washer couldn't hold a candle to this one. The beds have never been cleaner - they look as good as they did on the day they were purchased. The washer uses very little water compared to my old agitator model. As I watched this washer run through the first load, I thought about how the motion of the basket imitates the old fashioned rock in the stream method of washing clothes. As the basket rotates, the clothes are gently slapped down to the bottom as they reach the top. The only difference is I don't have to worry about making holes in the clothes due to an unforeseen rough spot on that old rock and, since I'm not doing the hard work, my arms aren't like rubber from the physical exertion when I'm done washing clothes. Due to the abuse of my son overloading the old washer, it had things break that had never been broken by me growing up using my mom’s washer or when using my own laundry facilities. I’m sure the problems were caused by the washer constantly going off balance with my son’s “everything” loads. I usually pour a small amount of Fabuloso on the dog beds so they retain a fresh smell for a longer period of time. I evidently put a bit too much in one dog bed load, and the washer told me it needed to wait while the suds dissipated. This washer is smart and good looking. I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend this washer. It does a good job getting the clothes clean, and it does so quietly.

This washer did a very good job on white and colored clothes for the five loads it actually operated. It stopped working after that. GE sent a repairperson who confirmed a problem with several electronic components. The following day I was told the components were backordered with no anticipated delivery date! Eventually, after several calls to GE Customer Relations an exchange was offered, which is to take place within 10 days. Total time without a washer since order will be nearly a month. I would avoid this product because it appears that it is unsupported or poorly supported though it is only in closeout status. Any future problems with this washer could be unrepairable or take an unacceptably long time. I would not buy a GE washer again.

What can I say, this machine can do it all. Not only does this have a very large capacity, it is very easy to use. I don't believe that I have ever had a machine that had the features this one does. One feature that I enjoy is the sanitize option. You can wash your towels and have the built in heater super heat the water to get them cleaner than they have ever been. It is also able to wash and dry a small load overnight for those last minute mishaps allowing you to sleep without having to transfer the load to the dryer. I have only had this machine for two months, but so far I love this machine. Another nice surprise was the internal light that helps you see the drum so you won't miss that one sock tucked into the corner. This machine provides more RPM's than most machines giving it an edge to help dry your clothes faster.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dahlbaby Great Find, Great Value, Great Features, Great Machine
Great features that really focus on stains and type of garments. Very quiet, huge basin, easy to use, and automatic water usage adjustment according to the load saves on water, energy and $$. Love it!

This is my first front loading washing machine and so far I have been very happy with it. I was able to get it on sale which saved me several hundred dollars. This machine cleans VERY well. I had thought traditional machines worked well but not compared to this one. I had some white towels that due to constant use had some dirt stains that would not come out. Even after frequent washings. One trip through the GE on the sanitize setting and they were bright and white again. I highly recommend this machine and would buy another.
