Customer Questions & Answers

how much adjustment is there on the feet -for height?

We may need to adjust our new cabinets for thicker laminate (12mm) and I wondered if there will be a height problem with the stove if we run the laminate under the stove area first. Since it is a slide in, it really needs to have a good range of adjustment in the feet - are they knobs that turn?
Asked by: RC
Hi RC- This is Sue at GE Appliances. All electric and gas, free-standing, slide-in, drop-in ranges come with 4 adjustable leveling legs. When the range is uncrated, the legs are in the up position (screwed all the way in). The height measurements offered on both gas and electric ranges is based on the legs set in the shortest position. Adjusted all the way down, the legs will add 1 inch of additional height. Thanks for checking with us!

5.6 cu. ft. Slide-In Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 394.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from control board goes blank except for clock I bought this range 4 yrs ago and 2 yrs ago control board went blank started working about a week later. Last year same thing about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving started working again about a week later. Well happen again and replace the control board and same thing. Very unhappy with this range now it might be the key pad. I also did bye a freg. and microwave that are the GE brand. Did have problems with the mother board too on the frig. working good now.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks great, bakes less so After two months use my oven temperature is not stable. Also it takes ~15 additional minutes from the time the cook panel indicates a particular temperature (say 350) and the time the oven actually reaches 350. Additionally the convection bake auto temperature adjust runs ~50 degrees below what the panel cook temperature. It is so bad I turned off this feature. On the good side the stove top burners work great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great stove, works well, couple of features missing Used for a couple a couple of weeks now and has worked wonderfully. The front left burner is ~20,000BTU and boils water faster than anything I've had before. Precise control of temp for the oven is great, and the warming drawer is useful. Center griddle is heavy duty but so far I still prefer a real pan. Burner control knobs are solid and everything is easy to clean. The burner's low setting is extremely low and great for simmering or melting chocolate. Watch out for the side "wings" that sit on top of the counters, it helps eliminate the gap between where food can fall but also limits how it all can fit together. Couple cons: No ventilation fan. My last slide in oven would vent the top and oven into a 6" duct so no hood was required, why don't all convection ovens offer this now? Second, the touch panel for control is a little finicky as it's non-mechanical buttons and more like a phone's touch screen. Means its easy to clean but a little cumbersome to use. If you're picky about these things try it out in the store first. If it splashes or drips on the panel it will start "pressing buttons", happened a few times already.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable Repeated F76 error messages, with the control panel blacking out. Rebooting it helped sometimes, but we had to have the control panel replaced twice in less than a year. Horrible reliability for an appliance that is usually trouble-free - particularly one at this price point.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Steer clear of GE Profile appliances We bought 4 Profile appliances for our new kitchen. What a sad disappointment. With this slide in range, you cannot switch from bake to broil (to finish browning). The Convection oven is worthless. Very unhappy.

It seemed like a simple repair, but it has taken several weeks for the part to be replaced after I called GE and reported the problem.
