CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 45 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by GE isn't what it used to be I purchased this oven in August of 2013. In 2 years and 8 months, I have had to have it serviced three times for a broken ignition switch with the first service call after 10 months of ownership. The problem is the convection oven turns on but will not come up to the proper temperature. When the repairman came out to fix it the first time, I asked him if he'd ever had to fix this problem in such a new oven. He told me he's had to fix this problem in ovens that were brand new and just out of the box. As I type this review, my oven is again not working for the same ignition switch problem except now the convection fan is also not working. GE charges $98 for every service call in addition to the cost of the repair. No one at customer service cares that the oven continues to break because of the same problem. They just keep saying there is nothing we can do because the product is no longer under warranty. I don't believe their products are built with the same quality that they were previously and to make the situation worse, their customer service leaves much to be desired. April 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great features, disappointed in manufacturers design flaw We purchased this double oven in Nov, 2012 and it has been working great. Love the large capacity of the ovens and the grates across the full surface of the stove top. However, when opening and closing the top oven, the door scraps against the heat shield above the oven door. Recently, the top oven door would not close without force when heated. The service tech informed that this is a manufacturer's defect and the 'manifold eyebrow dips were there are no screws' causing the scrapping and expansion of the heat shield when oven is hot causing the top door to not close well. I am very disappointed with this design flaw in a GE product. And not sure of the long term effect of this issue. December 29, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This stove offers the features of more expensive appliances at a great price. On the stovetop, I absolutely love the power boil; it really makes a huge differene in the amount of time it takes to cook things. The simmer option is wonderful for melting butter and making Roux's. The smaller upper oven has been the perfect size to make pizzas, casseroles, broiling nachos, warming tortillas, baking potatoes, and acts as the perfect warming drawer. It's great not having to heat an entire oven to do theses things. I love having the convection oven low so I can lift heavier things like turkeys and hams out and up versus having to bring big hot heavy pans toward me from above. There are options to choose from such as the Sabbath mode with this oven; you just have to choose it. September 26, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the double oven and power boil burner We Chose GE because of our great experience with our old XL44. Not disappointed! The small oven is great for everyday use. I don't feel like it's an energy hog for small jobs. Until you get used to the smaller oven height, be careful not to burn your fingers reaching in to check or grab food. Slide the rack out instead. My only concern is with the knobs. Twice I've accidentally leaned on a knob and ignited a burner - barely escaping a dish towel fire. Also had this happen to a friend who was admiring my new kitchen. The controls need to have a little more resistance built into them to make them safer. January 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love my new Range & Double Oven I just finished my kitchen remodel last month and I love, love, love my new appliances. The double oven is awesome and allows me to cook a pizza for the kids while cooking a pot roast at another temperature for later. If I only use the top, it doesn't heat up my whole kitchen - I can't wait until Thanksgiving!! The burners are heavy cast iron and heat up super fast! The express boiling water setting is great for getting the job done quickly. And the center burner is a must have for pancakes and grill cheese sandwiches. I don't know how I ever cooked before. One thing I have noticed is that the handles on my pots and pans heat up so I have to get better at grabbing those potholders! September 6, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My Dream Range I bought this Range 2 months ago, didnt want to write a review untill I actually cooked on the top and in the oven.  This oven is so Beautiful to look at, it cooks beautifully, The burners are great, each with their own function, to boil water fast I use the Power Boil Burner, when I want to simmer I use the simmer burner which is set at 140 degrees.  The Center griddle has always been a dream of mine, and this reversable griddle is perfect for pancakes on one side, and the other for grilling steaks or chicken.  But then again another feature that I love is the double oven, which I use often, Now I can bake using the top oven, it is so much faster than waiting to heat up the large size of the oven.   September 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BIG AND BEAUTIFUL This oven is Big and Beautiful. The center burner is awesome January 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great gas range, small problem with enamel paint The stainless steel range looks great. I love the double oven. Thanksgiving is this week, so I will try both ovens at once. The convection oven bakes very evenly and faster than my old oven. I like the slide-out oven rack. The top burners heat very quickly. The cast-iron griddle is very sturdy, though I haven't tried this feature yet. I love the burner arrangement and big area on the range top. I do have a problem with enamel paint peeling on the range top near one burner. It looks like paint blistered from the heat of the burner. This is unacceptable for a range that should last 20 years.
