Answer:
Hi Sunny,
The lower oven will hold a turkey about 20 lbs. Keep in mind for any size oven, the food item should have a minimum of one inch air space on all sides: top, bottom, right, left and back wall. Thank you for checking with us.

Degree of Burner Control on LP

This question is from Profile 6.7 cu. ft. Slide-In Double Oven Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel

I wish to know if LP converted cooktops have full, gradual burner control through the entire travel of the knob. I have seen LP ranges where the burner controls suffered from lack of gradual control. Those units went from simmer at the lowest setting with almost no burner increase through knob travel until about 80% of knob travel. At this point the burner surged to about full heat. This resulted of severe lack of medium range burner levels. Does this range top offer gradual burner changes through the entire travel of the knob?

Are the oven burners similarly capable of even heat control or do they surge?

I have propane and if you buy the little conversion kit with this stove and oven you will find that it is one of the best purchases you can make for your kitchen. I live in the Virginia plains and the oven is spot on with temperature through all of the settings. You can calibrate it for higher elevations. Being an electrical engineer I fiddled with the calibration and tested it through every range and it was dead on. for the burners, all but the back left burner are perfect and vary from a slow simmer to a hot boil very smoothly. The back left burner on my unit has trouble starting but I think that is specific to my unit. Propane burns a lot hotter than natural gas so even at the lowest simmer you will end up with a low boil. Lodge Iron has a great device that will fix this. It is a big iron disc that is about 8 inches round with a hole in the center that will spread the heat and tame the propane flame. This is not a fault of the oven. Propane just burns a lot hotter than natural gas and needs something to spread the heat. Read Less

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BEWARE! DO NOT BUY THIS OVEN! Purchased this oven brand new from Home Depot. While the gas range works, neither oven has worked since day one. A third-party company contracted by GE has tried to replace 3 separate parts on 3 separate occasions. Neither oven currently works. Now GE wants to send out another company to try replacing a fourth part. Each time requires me to be available during a 4-hour period to wait for the repair person. Also, GE sends parts directly to the consumer, not the repair company. This means I have to keep track of various parts, ensure they are the correct parts, etc. Why is GE making this my problem? It's absolutely crazy that a brand new oven should have to have four different parts replaced. So far they refuse to replace the oven, but want to keep trying to fix it. I am fed up. Don't know what to do. I also purchased the Home Depot warranty on this item, but Home Depot says that since the oven is currently covered under the GE 1-year warranty, there is nothing Home Depot will do. I must first exhaust GE's 1-year warranty. NEVER BUYING GE AGAIN! July 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it! I love this oven everything cooks so even and quickly April 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works perfectly with propane and just has one inconvenience This is a very sturdy and well made range/oven unit. Unlike my previous slide-in, this one has full walls on the right and left sides. It comes with a propane conversion kit and works perfectly on propane. Bread cooks evenly and having the middle burner is great. The upper oven heats up about a third faster than the lower oven and I have done most of my cooking in the upper oven. The lower oven is the same size as my old oven and the only sacrifice is that the upper oven takes up the space that your pan drawer on a standard oven. The only flaw that I see in the design is the recessed glass control panel for the oven. If you spill anything or splatter grease while cooking, This little recessed panel catches everything and it pools up in the bottom. It appears to be sealed as nothing seems to disappear but it is a pain to clean completely. Converting to propane was a painful experience for the contractor. When I had the local contractor install the oven, they had no idea they would have to take the oven apart to replace the propane jets. Fortunately they didn't charge me extra for the 3 hours it took them to do the conversion and hookup. But now I understand why Home Depot doesn't offer a hookup service for this range. Finally... my kitchen has been converted from white to GE Profile Chrome for all appliances. January 2, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Faulty oven controls Oven control panel has failed twice poor warranty service. Not worth the price November 25, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Installation - Beware If your area requires a certified installer beware. Home Depot contracts out the installation work and does not do the work at the same time the range is delivered. Right now I have the new range sitting in the living room waiting for the installer to call which can take 48 hours. That means scheduling 2 days off from work. This is not mentioned on the website or when checking out. FYI, Sears does both the delivery and installation at the same time. Hopefully the new range is worth the hassle. October 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fancy Does everything advertised. Seems well-made. Heavy appliance. May 31, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by so far so good Delivery was great. It's only been a week yet i am feeling good about this purchase. I like the dual oven and find myself using the upper smaller one much more, should be good when i am cooking for a crowd. The Power Boil is very helpful and the simmer burner is something i did not have on my GE Monogram. Great for pancakes on the 5 burner. and looks great. :) March 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love!!! The product description from Home Depot on this product stated that both ovens had broilers. That is not the case. Only the top has the broiler feature. The only other complaint would be that both oven lights went out the same time within the first week. This had me super nervous. Spend over $3000 and in the first week both oven lights go out?? Thought there might be a short. We replaced the bulbs and haven't had an issue since and it has been about a month. Fingers crossed that it was a fluke thing. Now that I have given you the negatives, let's talk the positives! I absolutely LOVE the Power Boil feature. I can boil a large pot of cold water in about 7 minutes! This my first convection oven and I love! I have made cookies, bars, pizzas, and breads so far and everything has been perfect. The center griddle works wonderful. My last stove I didn't really pay attention to BTU's when we bought it and my center burner couldn't even cook pancakes. The griddle is cast iron. March 29, 2015
