Customer Questions & Answers

Is this range compatable with a downdraft vent insert that goes behind the stove?

Asked by: AmberL
Hi AmberL- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for viewing our Gas Ranges! No, the range is not compatible with a downdraft venting system. We currently do not offer a gas range that is compatible with downdraft venting. Thanks for checking with us!

will the lower oven hold a large 20-22 lb turkey?

Asked by: Sunny
Hi Sunny, The lower oven will hold a turkey about 20 lbs. Keep in mind for any size oven, the food item should have a minimum of one inch air space on all sides: top, bottom, right, left and back wall. Thank you for checking with us. Lisa from GE Appliances.

Degree of Burner Control on LP

I wish to know if LP converted cooktops have full, gradual burner control through the entire travel of the knob. I have seen LP ranges where the burner controls suffered from lack of gradual control. Those units went from simmer at the lowest setting with almost no burner increase through knob travel until about 80% of knob travel. At this point the burner surged to about full heat. This resulted of severe lack of medium range burner levels. Does this range top offer gradual burner changes through the entire travel of the knob? Are the oven burners similarly capable of even heat control or do they surge?
Asked by: jumpin
Hello jumpin - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. Using LP (liquid propane) gas instead of natural will lower the BTU* output, thus slowing the cooking process. However, the operation of the burners with regard to the knob adjustments should not be hindered unless the unit is not installed properly. We recommend having a licensed plumber certified in gas appliances install and convert the range. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Customer Reviews

6.7 cu. ft. Slide-In Double Oven Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 376.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stove I did a lot of research on this stove. I was hesitant with some of the bad reviews, but every appliance has a few. I was also hesitant because I wanted to see this stove in person and the stores do not keep this in stock. Ordered the stove, we picked it up and installed it ourselves. It is a beast! It fit like a charm. I have been cooking on it and love it. Yesterday was our Thanksgiving and both ovens were loaded! Everything came out on time. I have not had any issues with the controls, love the lock control feature so that you can clean the screen. I do use Weiman Stainless Cleaner on it as I do for all of my stainless steel appliances.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BEWARE! DO NOT BUY THIS OVEN! Purchased this oven brand new from Home Depot. While the gas range works, neither oven has worked since day one. A third-party company contracted by GE has tried to replace 3 separate parts on 3 separate occasions. Neither oven currently works. Now GE wants to send out another company to try replacing a fourth part. Each time requires me to be available during a 4-hour period to wait for the repair person. Also, GE sends parts directly to the consumer, not the repair company. This means I have to keep track of various parts, ensure they are the correct parts, etc. Why is GE making this my problem? It's absolutely crazy that a brand new oven should have to have four different parts replaced. So far they refuse to replace the oven, but want to keep trying to fix it. I am fed up. Don't know what to do. I also purchased the Home Depot warranty on this item, but Home Depot says that since the oven is currently covered under the GE 1-year warranty, there is nothing Home Depot will do. I must first exhaust GE's 1-year warranty. NEVER BUYING GE AGAIN!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from HORRIBLE - Display keeps breaking I bought this less than a year ago. Since then, the display has stopped working twice. We were asked the first time if there had been a power outage. There had not. This time, we had to shut the fuse off to fix something in the kitchen and the display stopped working again. This is ridiculous. Is this an ongoing problem with this range?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect appliance! I've only had my new range for two days but it's done everything I expected of it. I love the look and the ease of use. I'm sure I'll have this range for many years. My last GE Profile range was 15 years old and still working perfectly. I just wanted more features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Range/Oven configuration I bought this range about 4 months ago and am very happy with it. The two ovens are perfectly sized and I love that there are 2 of them! I can roast whole chicken in the upper oven, plus a pan of potatoes while I bake bread in the lower. The upper oven heats up super quick. The whole thing is easy to clean. The large center burner is a great bonus. The range layout makes it so multiple pots can be used effectively without it feeling overcrowded. It takes up so little space. Our kitchen isn't large and I knew I couldn't get a cooktop plus a wall oven. I am glad that this appliance exists, because otherwise, I'm not sure what I would do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Time will tell... Received my stove promptly and installation was pretty simple. Make sure you determine where your gas supply comes up as this can be an issue. The on-line manual will show were the recommended area is and you can work from there. Unpacking the thing is a chore, how it would ever be damaged in shipping is beyond me. Once the legs are leveled and gas hooked up it slides right in. The keypad is a bit finicky for sure, sometimes a light touch is needed and other times a longer touch? While checking it all out the light in the upper over stops working. Apparently they got a "bad batch" of switches as customer service had some calls on this. It sucks that an appliance this expensive out of the box before it was even used already needs a repair, but, it is just a switch so hopefully it is not a sign of things to come. The cast iron skillet is substantial, I have read other reviews it scratches easily? The grates are cast which concerns me a bit but they appear to be durable as well. There are pads where the grates sit on the stainless top, without those it would get snatched pretty badly so that will be a chore making sure they don't disappear. The controls are easy to use and pretty self explanatory. We love the stove top and how the grates cover the whole top. For those of you contemplating a double oven, we just tried to put our Turkey Roaster in the bottom, no deal, it won't fit. Make sure you look at dimensions and consider what you will be cooking, even once a year. Kudos to the delivery guy, this might be in the manual I haven't read entirely yet but he said don't use windex on stainless steel, it will put a permanent rainbow on it?? I have not had an opportunity to really cook on it yet but I'm sure I'll break it in on Thanksgiving tomorrow. I did heat up the griddle and boil a pot of water, so much better than our older model. All in all a good purchase as long as it does amazing actually cooking things.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it so far! Just installed this stove last week and it looks beautiful in our kitchen. Easy install for the local plumber we hired. Cooked a few meals so far. Stove top works perfectly. Used the grill - learned a lesson on seasoning it with oil. I missed that step when I read the directions, but made a nice recovery. Top oven is great for small orders. But don't miss out on convection which is only on the bottom oven. Best roasted chickens are convention cooked, so glad to have that feature back in my kitchen!
