Customer Questions & Answers

GE Profile Advantium Above the Cooktop, is there a fan on the bottom? My client wants to install in a cabinet instead of over the range.

Asked by: Anonymous
The unit can be converted to a recirculating mode. If you want to take advantage of the exhaust you will need to make provisions to have an exhaust duct installed. This duct should go all the way through the roof and exhaust outside. Do not exhaust in the attic.

Does this require 120 or 220 power?

Asked by: Anonymous
The Advantium comes in 120 or 220 volt configurations. The 220 volt option has a bit more powerful cooking system.

Hello Jim, The oven will install into a typical wall cabinet depth. Usually this will be from 12" to 15" in depth.

how much is installation on the GE Advantium 240v?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Julie, The 220 volt version will require that the proper wiring is installed into the cabinet cavity above the cooking unit. Most over the range micros are powered by 120 volts. The other installation charges will be comparable to any other over the cook top installation. There is a 120 volt version available that may be more appropriate for your installation. It is a little bit less powerful but, still very acceptable performance.

Customer Reviews

Profile Advantium 240 1.7 cu. ft. Above-the-Cooktop Oven in Stainless Steel-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacing 10 year old Advantium! I just had this new model Advantium installed to replace a 2001 model. I hope I will love it as much as I did my old one. It is very nice looking and the inside is larger than the old model although it fit in the exact same space so installation was fairly easy! I'm still getting used to the new controls and I miss the "manual cook" button from the old one. I'm not sure about the new "convection" mode and it seems like the cook times are longer on this new model but so far it is cooking very nicely. I'm one of those people addicted to my Advantium so I hope it works as well as my previous model! I'll update after a few weeks of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Kool This is by far the best unit I have ever used. The speed cook is awesome, I tested and the speed cook is faster then the gas grill, the taste was the same just baked. The speed cook is great if you need good tasting non processed food fast. The sense cook is great as well, especially for me as I am lazy. The unit is fairly easy to clean, I have found that if you use a paper towel while its still hot, it cleans in less then a minute. This unit is user friendly on all aspects, even my 7 year old can use it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ONE OF THE FINEST PRODUCTS MADE BY GE I read what those who had problems with their Trivection Oven Microwave, I think they forgot to do "routine matainance" like "cleaning the inside of the oven" or put metal, even if it was by accident, into the oven. Carbon, from burnt food; wife was cooking and corn syurp boiled, splattered and walla, lighting in the microwave. I was called to solve this phenomenon, resident ElectronIic Engineer. Found the carbonized demon and exorsized it.. Building a new house and would you believe it; G.E. quit making the double trivection wall ovens! In short, if you buy our house, you'll need a double oven to fit in the hole, WE ARE NOT LEAVING OUR TRIVECTION OVENS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Microwave I bought this microwave to match the new range. Never expecting it to do all the wonderful things it does. I love the quick start and the defrost. It also does convection and works like a range. I highly recommend this microwave. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I Hope GE improved the quality. I bought this oven in 2009 because we thoroughly loved the wall unit Advantium we had in a previous home. This over-the-cooktop model has not performed as well. First thing we noticed was the cooking menu had been reduced from the previous model we owned. Then, soon after we bought it, the door became very difficult to open. And the micro-switch that senses the door is closed continues to fail...so the oven doesn't work. GE has replaced the failed microswitch but can do nothing about the very poor, and cheap, design of the door latch. You better get in shape for this one. You have to aggressively jerk on the handle to get it to open. I would only purchase this oven again if the door latch problem was resolved.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from If you are definitely into the convection you might be able to tolerate it. The fan kicks on by itself when it needs to while your using it and it is LOUD!! We're talking annoyingly, can't hear your guests, sounds like a jet with the high pitch and whirrrr, LOUD!!! And you CAN NOT turn it off when its kicked on by itself. Nope, not even if you stop cooking. Mind you, you can turn it on yourself if you feel you need it and then you can shut it off when you want. However, if it senses the need to be turned on - you are stuck with it. Other than that it works fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as Micro Wave & Oven at the same time. We bought this Micro Wave 6 months ago. It was the best investment we made in a micro wave!. Very easy to use , and the best part of it is you can use it as an oven too! especially if your regular oven is for some reason out of order or not working! We love it and it is worth every penny. One little advice ...do not try to install it yourself. Let the delivery gus do it for you they are professionals and they know what they are doing. Good Luck! Rated 4 out of 5 by from Such a versatile appliance Since there are just two of us at home, we were looking for a small oven and our kitchen designer suggested the Advantium. This oven does it all! We especially enjoy using the speed cook mode as it cooks food not only quickly but also very well. It is very easy to use with many preset recipes. The microwave mode is not as powerful as our previous stand alone over-the-range microwave. We did have a few problems with it, but GE took care of the issues, even when they occurred just out of the warranty period. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
