Customer Questions & Answers

Can this be installed under countertops?

I am planning to get this oven. Below, it says "YES" for under the counter installation, but the installation guide indicates that there is a personal safety risk. I would really prefer the 240 v model over the 120 v (which is clearly approved for under the counter installation) but I want to make sure that it is doable before I choose this item.
Asked by: Kitchen12345
GE says it voids the warranty, but we have had ours under the counter for years with no problem. Just don't stick your head right above the door when you open it.

What does it mean if the light on the Display has blinking lights flash through the display

Asked by: Nancy
Hi Nancy, I am happy to help. It could mean the cook feature was interrupted, the clock was not set, or a cook feature wasn't programmed properly. Try resetting by clearing the panel out or disconnecting power at the breaker. If this continues, please contact service at 800.432.2737. Thank you for checking with us. Lisa from GE Appliances.

Customer Reviews

Advantium 30 in. Electric Wall Oven with Speed Cook and Convection in Stainless Steel is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 80.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Misleading specifications The reason I gave the value only a fair is because the specifications on the home depot site says that the height is 19 1/32". This is not true. The height is 17' and is only 19 1/32 if you purchase the extra accessory drawer from GE for over $461.00. We had an advantium which gave out so I ordered this new one to replace it. With it saying the height is 19 1/32", I knew it would fit in the hole but was surprised when it arrived and was too short. After opening the installation guide, I found out that I would have to order the accessory drawer at an extra cost. This is very misleading and, as such, should give height for both the wall oven and the wall oven plus accessory drawer. Otherwise, I love the advantium oven.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!! Installed this in my butler's pantry as a supplemental oven and our primary microwave. I absolutely love it. Cookies and brownies cooked in the convection feature come out perfectly and the sensor for the microwaved frozen vegetables, popcorn and reheat all work beautifully. The delayed time bake feature is also great for casseroles, especially since my primary oven doesn't have a time bake feature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Advantium Mircowave oven This is my second Advantium and I love it. I'm still experimenting with some of the features. My one complaint is that I cannot reach the back of the oven around the convection fan to clean it. The inside of the oven appears twice as large as my original that lasted 15 years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Love the oven but it needs a few refinements. First let me say I love the Advantium 240V oven features, cooking speed and quality. That said, I would not recommend buying an Advantium 240V wall oven until they straighten out their design issues. This is a high end appliance installed in our custom cabinets and the oven blows large quantities of hot, very moist, air out all over the cabinets from around the door, this then causes condensation which causes the cabinet finish to turn white and become gummy. GE replaced the first oven, however, the second oven has the same issue. The oven interior cabinet does not seal to the door and there is no gasket to help the seal. Their Service Tech agreed that the oven was manufactured on a twist and the door can't seal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it but it has one problem.... We purchased our Advantium oven about 9 months ago. We have loved the speed cook and the microwave feature. We entertain frequently so the speed cook has been wonderful for baked potatoes, roasts, lamb shoulders, whole chickens, etc. The meat is cooked to perfection with the inside juicy and the skin very crisp. Unfortunately there is one problem - steam comes out of the oven on the left side and has affected the finish on our cabinets in that area. We have had it serviced but the problem still exists. As far as the quality and performance of the oven we are extremely pleased but are disappointed in the steam issue.
