Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. This 36" cooktop requires a 33-7/8" wide countertop cutout. It also requires a minimum 2" clearance to the side wall from the cutout on each end of the cooktop. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Hello - This is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you.
When using the bridge burner, you should choose a pan that matches the circle/bridge area as closely as possible. The bridge burner is used in conjunction with the left front surface burner. You can use the left front surface burner and the bridge burner together as long as the pan matches the area.

Dear Floria - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you with regard to the cookware to use on an induction cooktop.
First, this cooktop is a radiant cooktop, not an induction cooktop. For induction cooktops, in order to create the magnetic field and heat the cookware, the bottom of the cookware must have some iron content. Compatible cookware for induction cooktops should be made of magnetic stainless steel, cast iron (works well but may scratch the glass unless it is porcelain coated), enameled steel or a combination of these materials.
For best results, use a pan that matches the element size. Pans should have a flat bottom and be at least 5 inches across the bottom. Cookware larger than the element ring may be used; however, heat will only occur above the element.
Please note that there are many types of cookware that cannot be used on the induction: Aluminum or aluminum clad, copper or copper clad, aluminum foil, glass/ceramic and some stainless steel products (because these will not attract and hold a magnet).
I hope this information is helpful! Thanks for checking with us! Read Less

Profile CleanDesign 36 in. Smooth Surface Radiant Electric Cooktop in Black with 5 Elements is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleased! I have been extremely pleased with not only the look, but the function of this cooktop. I replaced a Jenn Air and couldn't be happier. I really like the fact that the "burners" give you options of pan sizes and they also regulate the heat to maintain the constant temperature you set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Maintanance, Reliable Preformance Cooktop Cooktop is easy to use safe and very easy to keep clean. I have had no problems what-so-ever with its preformance. This is a product that I would recomend to all of my friends. There are no trays to worry about grease build-up therefore, no more fire hazard. The safety features are outstanding. Thank you for such a wonderful product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Cooktop looks great and installs easy. So far, no issues with this cooktop range. Looks great, works great. I like that it has the super large burner ring that you can turn on/off as well as a safety switch. Cleans up easy. Connect three wires and your done. Stainless knobs and trim is worth the extra if you're on the fence...go for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I bought this to replace another GE cooktop. It fit perfectly in the opening and was very easy to install. Very easy to use and maintain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product-great features on cooktop This is the first stand alone cook-top I've owned and I am impressed. The features are great. It has a warming section, which I had on my older stove but the added features on this one surpass all others. The center large cook section can be used on small, medium or large size to accommodate larger or smaller pots. The left side has a center section that can be used in connection with the round cook-top and this created an area to use a griddle on the entire side. Great feature! The only thing i wish was that the edge was beveled a little so there wasn't a space for crumbs to potentially collect. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Ready to Comment! The cook top was installed two weeks ago and has two disfunctional elements, one that is not working at all and the other that is not working properly. The first one is the "bridge" between the left front and left rear elements that is burned out and has not been fixed as yet by the GE Tech. and a second part where the right front outside ring comes on when the right front center element is turned on high. So I will give an evaluation once the unit is completely fixed and working properly..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good cooktop but difficult to keep clean and all cookware must have a flat bottom. This cooktop heats efficiently and looks great, but even a splash of water from a pot makes a mess. I like the variety of burners and love the two that connect for large roasting pans. You do have to make sure that all cookware has completely flat bottoms or heating willl take forever. Overall, its a good electric cooktop,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cooktop Cooktop has plenty of burners that heat up quickly. The only thing I would change is possibly the color. It tends to attract dust very quickly. It's a challenge keeping it clean.
