Answer:
I personally! replace it once a yr, too but the water gets slow pressure down the water-line at least in my case!, So! I would recommended to replace it on the (8th or 9th Month) to be safe still!. specially on the FQSVF Filters. I will try the Reverse Osmosis Filter set since this is not just for drinking water! but for Cooking also.

Answer:
As needed. It depends on how dirty your water is. Once the water starts tasting bad, its time to replace. GE recommends every 6-12 months. I replace my once a year at it works fine.

Answer:
Per the instructions from the initial purchase of my system, the two outer filters should be replaced every six months. The center filter needs to be changed less often and depends on your water usage. I changed mine after almost two years of usage.

Answer:
This item is for the carbon pre- and post- filters, that fit in the #1 and #3 locations of the water purifier body. The middle cartridge is the reverse osmosis unit, and must be purchased separately. Typically, you will change the carbon filters more frequently than the R.O. unit, so they sell them separately from the R.O. unit.

Answer:
The third unit is the actual RO unit and does not need replacing. The 2 cartridges catch most of the particles and need replacing as needed.

Hello Lucy,
Thank you for your inquiry on the GE Twist & Lock RO Repl Filter Set Model # FQROPF.
That is a good question. Unfortunatley, it is a marketing decision on how they are packaged.
Your comments are important to us and I will forward your suggestions to our product design division. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 49 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works as intended Works fine. When newly installed, you can taste the difference compared to the used filter. If you don't have a sand filter on your well, these filters only last a month instead of 3 as listed. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome filters Very easy to replace! Water taste GREAT! My only complaint would be more choices July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy and mess free The only difficult thing about replacing these in my RO system was trying to find them at a local store. The products is great, just plan ahead and order them on line and have them shipped to your home. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easiest product to install, good filtration The replacement filters just twist off and the new filters twist in. There is little to no water dripping when the old cartridges are removed. No mess, no fuss and no husband complaining that he has to do everything. Great product. May 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by You Pay the Piper for Easy O&M Let's face it. The filters are overpriced, but they are designed to replace the previous set of filters very easily. The system is a good design and the ease of maintenance is a plus over the other under the counter RO systems that require dismantling the filter housings to replace the pre and post filters. It's all part of the good drinking water game. May 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement filter set These filters last a LONG time. Very easy to replace. We can certainly smell and taste the difference in our water. April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replace every 6 months They work great. They do what needs to be done. Of course a little expensive as we all know. And today only available online but shipping was fast and free to the house April 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to replace Easy enough to replace, but the instructions are inconsistent. Box says you do not need to turn off water supply to the RO to change, but the package insert says you do. If only replacing the cartridges, you do not need to replace, but GE Technical Services says there could be water spray if pushed on incorrectly. Also, by the time you buy the replacement cartridges and RO cartridge, you are close to paying for an entirely new system. That said, I do like the water quality with the GE RO and would recommend it to others, although my particular system has been superseded by a newer version--and the cartridges are not interchangeable.
