You have to rinse off the dishes and makes them almost clean for them to come out clean. Now after 3.5 yrs the top drawer is starting to rust. We only use this machine once or twice a week and yet it is rusting. Very dissatisfied

This is a brand new dw and cleans poorly and doesn't dry. Had GE service it and their explanation was nothing wrong. Water coming into dw below 120 degree. Water heater set at 125 degree but water cools as it travels to dw. Turned water heater up to maximum, so much for enegy efficiency. Cleaning improved, but had to use add heat and heat dry options. Still does not dry the dishes. Plastics are soaking wet. Wish I had my old GE dw back.

We paid for a premium dishwasher and while it looks good, it doesn't do dishes. Basically you have to wash your dishes before you put them in or they will not be clean. It hardly uses any water which is likely the problem. Such a disappointment to replace a 10 year old dishwasher that was so much better. After 6 months, I give up and am going to replace it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dennis Huge disappointment--had to replace in less than five years.
This dishwasher is a disaster! The wheels on the bottom tray fell off, and the dishes are filthy. I run the longest and hottest cycle each time--to no end. Coffee cups are black, plates are gritty and utensils are disgusting. I now have to rerun the cycle, often to no avail. This dishwasher is attractive on the outside, but is fundamentally flawed. NEVER GE Again! Huge dissappointment!

After reading the reviews and having a profile Stainless Steel line in another home we ordered this one. It has cleaned spotless. So quiet we listen for water sounds. The light on the front to signal on is a nice new addition. The top rack adjusts down for tall glasses, up for large pans. I use cascade complete for the best clean I can get.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LindaDee Love my GE dishwasher
We replaced our 10 year old dishwasher as the old whirlpool had rusted twines and no longer cleaned well. Love this one! It cleans great and is unbelievably quiet. We cannot hear it running while standing next to it. the shelving is different than others I've had, so we had to play with best loading method. But we always can find a way to fit everything and never run more than once a day with a family of 4. We turned off the auto soap dispenser (very easy) as just didn't like that idea. But now I'm thinking we might just try it. And for you do it yourselfers - my husband said the install was easy too. I totally recommend this dishwasher. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by bmcain cleans great... dries not so much
It's very efficient, and very quiet. Easy to load with lots of room... easy to understand controls and settings. Cleans dishes without having to rinse first. BUT, it does a very poor job of drying dishes (plastic and otherwise), even with the "Added Heat" setting engaged. If it dried better, I'd give it 5 stars.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BuymadeinUSAplease Does a great job almost silently
Ive had this about 3 weeks now. Installed myself. Pretty straight-forward installation, though I had to re-route the power and in/out water because these need to enter the washer space ~6 inches or less from the floor. I also realized in doing the install that the old Kitchen Aid this one replaced lacked the looping in the drain hose that is needed for good drainage. Might help explain why it drained so poorly.
This GE does a tremendous job with the dishes we've run so far, mainly recent dinner dishes, glassware and silverware. I also loaded once on the top shelf a glass cake dish with some baked on residue and was shocked to see it come out clean.
This VSS model is rated for better energy efficiency versus RSS, which weighed me to get this one.
It's very quiet. I like the rack design: its very clear how to load everything and plates don't fall over or bang against the rotating wash heads. Plenty of space. Haven't yet tried the liquid dispenser. There is a traditional soap dish in addition so we're using dry soap cakes. So far, quite pleased.
