I do my own installation so why can't I use my own products, old or otherwise, to install this dishwasher? It says I can't reuse them. Who really has to know what I used?

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy. I wish there had been a review when I viewing this specific GEProfile model. We bought it to replace our standard +10yr old dishwasher. What a mistake. It does not wash any better than my previous dishwasher! I looked at this one specifically because the Flatware jets- I have to wash all my knives by hand. The plastic bowls on the top shelf never come out completly clean. However, the worst part is my girls milk bottles still come out with milk in them!! Gross! I am so dissapointed with GE. I need to buy a new stove and fridge- no more GE! For the price of this dishwasher it should actually do what its built for- wash the dishes! November 14, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap appliance clad in stainless steel I bought this dishwasher two years ago. I am replacing it this weekend. Worst appliance I ever owned. The water valve and water pump failed and had to be replaced. There is a short in the cabling in the door so that sometimes the washer does not come on. The door seal continually comes out and will not stay in place. Now the upper washer arm has come off. Enough is enough. Utter piece of junk. July 8, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't clean dishes Although it is quiet and has nice features like the smart dispenser, it has been a major disappointment. We had ours installed with our house three years ago. It has never really cleaned the dishes well, and now it leaves residue all over our dishes. We basically have to rinse before and after washing. It is just easier to hand wash at this point. Also the outlet for the smart dispenser has rusted in just 3 years. April 13, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Product I bought a GE dishwasher several years ago. It doesn't get the dishes clean. I have to rinse all dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. The service man said I used too much soap???So, I used less soap and the dishes were dirtier than before. I tried liquid and powder soaps and neither got the dishes clean. I am buying a new dishwasher and you can bet it won't be a GE. February 24, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rusted out after 2 1/2 years We purchased this dishwasher 2 1/2 years ago. What a disappointment! It leaves a residue on the bottom by the door after every load (the repairman said this was normal) Really? The dishes do not come clean. My silverware has rust spots on them. Now both racks are rusting out. What the heck? January 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY This is without a doubt the worst dishwasher we have ever had. What a mistake to replace a working relatively well but not attractive dishwasher just for a terribly designed, cheaply made stainless look dishwasher. The interior, spinning rinsing blades are PLASTIC. Corrosion builds up and the dishwasher does not effectively clean. We have tried everything outside of replacing it. I curse this thing regularly and will probably have to fork over money just three years later to replace. Boooooooo GE. I will probably never buy anything GE again and went for the Profile because reviews were pretty good. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] March 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great Looker But Demands Costant Trouble Shooting. This GE product was install by DR Horton, America's # 1 home builder. In two years I've had to deal with the machine acting up. ( 5 + times. ) Most incidents it doesn't drain. I was inspired to give  this product such a poor review because I had to work on it just 2 weeks ago & now this am! Why do food partials get by the fine filters???? I'd never buy a GE Profile again & don't wish to deal with  a possible 800 # service / timely saga and end up paying for a service call...    Also, other dishwashers I've owned have performed much better. I hope this helps you. THANKS. #biLL December 12, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I get the dishes cleaner by hand, don't waste your money This dishwasher was a big waste of money. If I don't wash the dishes 1st they come out with food still on them and everything in the top rack has the food from the bottom rack that might have come off. I called for service and 1st had to wait for a water testing kit to make sure my water was hot enough. We passed that test the water is so hot it burns your hands coming out of the faucet and still doesn't get the dishes clean. A service tech came out and blamed it on the new soap because some goverment agency took all the cleaning power out of the soap. March 20, 2013
