I replaced another GE Profile with this one, I am so pleased with this!! It is so much quieter, I have to really listen to see if it has started. My flatware looks great, shiny and new again, and NO SPOTS.Glasses clean with NO spots, a BIG plus for me!! Now, I rinse everything, as it is only the 2 of us, so I run it every other day. But when we have a house full, it runs every day, and less rinsing of the dishes, and it still cleans great. It cleans baking dishes and pots & pans very good..The Steam feature is great. I do use the Cascade w/Dawn action Pacs, and love them....The Stainless Steel cleans easy, everyone told me SS would be so hard to keep clean, I use Weiman wipes (Wal-Mart) every few days, so easy!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by HomeDepotAddict Well made, but poorly designed
I replaced an LG Direct Drive that cost half as much - and I want it back! The racks inside of this GE Profile are horrible. Bowls won't stand up, and I could put 50% more dishes in the LG than this unit will hold just because of the poor rack design.
I really would have passed on it had I realized this, but I ordered it online to match the complete $11,000 kitchen appliance replacement. Bad move.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by dlb421 Not what we expected
This unit runs much quieter than our last GE Dishwasher but it leaves food on the dishes and silverware. It doesn't seem to have the power to clean. We have tried different cycles and have made sure water temperature is hot before we start but results seem to be the same.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Razor Great dishwasher before it broke
Initially I really liked this dishwasher. Fairly quiet, although might be a bit too loud if its located near the family room (mine isn't so its fine). Cleaned really well, and the feature which allows the entire (or most of) the bottle of dishwashing liquid to be added at once is a great idea! However, after only six months the top "spinner" broke off. GE was no help (don't know why I bother to send in those warranty cards if there isn't any real warranty) so now I have it "jimmy-rigged" so that it works okay. Just would expect more than six months out of an appliance at this price-point.

leaving any particles on the dishes only means that a clear glass that only had water in it will come out with food particles embedded and baked into the glass, so make sure you rinse all particles off dishes before using dishwasher

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kaylyn Very poor dishwasher.
The inside of the dishwasher never looks clean after the dishes are washed. The Smart dispenser quit working for me. That takes up so much room that I cannot get my regular load of dishes in. I don't feel the dishes in the upper rack get clean eoungh. I wish I had gotten a simpler machine.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sunnybooks Quiet but Poor Performance
Very disappointed with this purchase. 1.Offers a number of features incl. smart dispense technology, which does not clean dishes properly. After trying liquid, powder and now gel tabs, dishes still do not come out clean. Service tech attributed poor cleaning performance to the fact that HE detergents, which is strongly recommended for this unit, do no longer contain any phosphorus. 2. Bottom rack is roomy, however, slots for plates are too far apart; top center section is more or less an open area that needs more compartments to secure items. 3.Top rack has come loose twice in the few months we've owned it!
This dishwasher is not worth the investment. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jill50 Very disappointed; Not what I was hoping for.
Although the dishes come out clean, everything is wet, even with the heated dry cycle. Especially the silverware. The holes in the basket hold water and I have to hand dry the silverware with every load! UGH! I did not even need the heated dry cycle with our last dishwasher; how are we saving $$$. I also do not like the handle. It is bowed and sticks out much father than our last dishwasher so it makes it harder to stand infront of the dishwasher to do food prep at the counter. The control buttons it are too far under the counter; it is hard to see them to choose the cycles and fit my finger in the space once the door is closed.
