Can I use 2 gauge wire with this breaker?

I'm adding a 100a subpanel in my garage from my main breaker panel and need to use 2-2-2-4 cable to connect the two. Can I use this breaker with this type of cable?
Asked by: BigMo
The breaker is rated to handle 6 awg. to 1/0 awg. Cu. and 4 awg. to 1/0 awg. Al. there is other things to consider before you choose a wire size. the main lug will handle the 2 awg wire but that isn't the rule to use certain wire gage. Here is a link for a better understanding. http://diy.stackexchange.com/questions/29057/what-wire-gauge-do-i-need-for-a-100-amp-subpanel-at-the-end-of-a-60-wire-run Just one more thing; "playing" with that kind of voltage is dangerous if you are not sure of what to do, please but please hire a professional this type of power can really hurt you or kill you.

can this be mounted as a replacement for a GETQAL21100 (in a GE 200A service panel)

Asked by: daskipr
Hi Deskipr, contacted GE technical to get you an answer. GE technical stated that as long as this breaker is going into a GE load center, it will work. So there you have it. Enjoy

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was scratched and beat up. The box it came in looked like it was out in the elements for a long time. The AMP itself was scratch and looked worn. For a 'new' item, it didn't look new.
