Customer Questions & Answers

Can I use 2 gauge wire with this breaker?

I'm adding a 100a subpanel in my garage from my main breaker panel and need to use 2-2-2-4 cable to connect the two. Can I use this breaker with this type of cable?
Asked by: BigMo
While you are allowed to use #2 AL wire from the meter to a 100 amp main panel, it's a violation of the National Electrical Code to use #2 AL wire to power a 100 amp subpanel. You'll need a minimum of 1/0 AL.

can this be mounted as a replacement for a GETQAL21100 (in a GE 200A service panel)

Asked by: daskipr
Hi Deskipr, contacted GE technical to get you an answer. GE technical stated that as long as this breaker is going into a GE load center, it will work. So there you have it. Enjoy

I would like to know if this breaker can be used in a GE load center, class CTL. This is a Type 3R outdoor Cat # TPL 412 RT- MOD 1.

This takes GE type (THQL) (THHQL) (TXQL). THANK YOU

Hello Jack, I’m Newf from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question. Yes, the TPL412RT thermoplastic box uses THQL breakers. For more information, see this site: I hope this helps, Newf.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was scratched and beat up. The box it came in looked like it was out in the elements for a long time. The AMP itself was scratch and looked worn. For a 'new' item, it didn't look new.
