Product Overview

The outside of a home is exposed to harsh outdoor elements throughout the year. Extreme heat, the sun's UV rays, and freezing temperatures can cause acrylic and siliconized acrylic caulks to lose flexibility and degrade. GE Silicone II Window and Door is permanently flexible and will not break down so it can protect a home as it settles or as the seasons change and joints expand and contract. This movement can cause degraded acrylic caulk to crack and crumble over time, leaving gaps for air and water to seep through. Those leaks can lead to water damage, mold growth, and higher energy bills. GE Silicone II Window and Door develops strength and adhesion quickly so it can be exposed to water in as little as 30 minutes. Some caulk requires up to 24 hours or longer before it can be exposed to water. For homeowners trying to squeeze home maintenance projects into the weekend or pros who are looking to move on to the next job, GE Silicone II can decrease the waiting time, helping increase convenience, speed, and efficiency. 100% Silicone sealant is widely considered to be the best caulk for sealing areas that will be exposed to water.

  • Typical silicone sealant uses include caulking around: windows, doors, siding, trim, molding, baseboards, vents, around wires/pipes and other attic/ basement applications
  • ADHERES to: most wood, metal, vinyl siding, masonry, brick, concrete, drywall/ plaster, glass and plastic
  • 100% silicone
  • Lifetime guarantee - will not shrink, crack, break down, wash away or yellow
  • Weatherproof, sun-proof, freeze-proof, flexible
  • 30 minute rain-ready, caulk can be exposed to rain in as little as 30 minutes and the caulk won't wash away
  • Permanently waterproof
  • Features mold-free product protection
  • Can be applied to wet or dry surfaces
  • Low VOC
  • Remains soft and flexible
  • Meets fed spec TT-S-00230C; TT-S-001543A/ASTM C-920, type-S, NS, class 25 use NT, M, G, A and O test requirements
  • 100% Silicone is 100% Waterproof. Caulk that keeps water out over time is a necessity in window, door, attic and basement applications. For a long-lasting seal 100% Silicone is recommended

Why isn't there a price break for a case qty?

At $5.95/ea, the price per tube is actually $0.03 more than the individual price of $5.92 in-store.

Customer Reviews

Silicone II 10.1 oz. Clear Window and Door Caulk (24-Count) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 139.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I strongly suggest looking into a NSF approved silicone !!!! This silicone works extremely well but if Home Depot had a kitchen and bath silicone that was met NSF standards I would purchase 15 to 20 times the amount and buy it all at Home Depot . Many people that work In kitchens and baths use NSF silicone which doesn't change coler over time , mold doesn't grow on it , it's 100 percent safe and meets all building standards . Home Depot can make a ton of money if they add this to there stock . Harbor freight sells a NSF approved silicone near the same price and we but prob 150-200 tubes a year . That's just one customer . I am in the business of sales and installations and there are many things that I can suggest that could up Home Depots sales here in there .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as I hoped Of course my use my be unusual so my results may not effect your decision. I wanted to use it as a type of glue to stick plastic strips to my louvers to help seal them when closed. In the past the louvers have whistled in strong winds and I wanted to prevent that in the future so I purchased plastic strips to help seal each to the next. Since the glass louvers, plastic strip were clear, I chose a clear sealer to do the job, but now, just a few months after installation the plastic strips are popping off so I'm not so pleased to have to replace them with a different product.

I had used this product for purposes of "bonding" metal roofing to three tab tile composition roofing where the metal roofing manufacturer specifically endorsed this product for its use for this application. Unfortunately it did not completely bond to the composition tile roofing substrate and was easy to peel away. It is great for other uses, but I do not recommend use for this application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good sealer I needed to replace some latex caulk (exterior) which only lasted 5 years of the 30 year lifetime advertised. We found this product to be very flexible, yet adhered to the surfaces wonderfully. My only recommendation for using this product would be to paint prior to use. Paint will not stick to the sealer. Product dries clear, and almost invisible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff! I used this on a vinyl and glass window on the inside where the bead had broken and it was leaking air. I cleaned the glass and vinyl all the way around and then mask off the area with painters tape because I am not very good at applying caulk. This product did an excellent job of creating a new seal and stopping the cold air from coming in.

We have never had any cracking, chipping, or pealing. It does shrink quite a bit while crying and we have had to go back in to fill gaps, but other than that great product. We have used many times over the last five years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Your floor staff should be trained! Actually, the product was okay, however the guy on the floor is not. He mentioned the product was paintable. Wrong. Now we've spent well over a day painstakingly removing the caulking in order to be able to paint the window. That's a load of cow manure.

I used there product over 40 years ago and it still is perfect. It's even made better now than 40 years ago so I can only imagine now long my recent applications will last. No better caulk made anywhere.
