Universal Gas and Electric Dryer Duct Kit can be used for samsung Dryer 7.5 CU.f t with steam in platinum ?

I have flexable exhust already installed
Asked by: mmmg23
Hello mmmg23 This duct kit would work fine but I see that it has been discontinued so you could buy the components which consist of a 8 ft. semi-ridid dryer duct see link http://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-8-ft-Semi-Rigid-Dryer-Duct-WX08X10075DS/202214660 and the 90 degree adjustable elbow see link http://www.homedepot.com/p/Speedi-Products-4-in-30-Gauge-90-Degree-Round-Adjustable-Elbow-SM-30A90T-04/202907082 to make your own kit of any of the semi-rigid or ridge duct work see following link http://www.homedepot.com/b/N-5yc1v/Ntk-All/Ntt-dryer%2Bvent%2Bduct?Ntx=mode%20matchall&NCNI-5. When home depot installs driers they require no less than the semi-ridig venting. Charlotte

Delivery guy installed Clearance Elbows with 90-degree turn. It not match to my washer machine depth

The Delvery guy installed 2 swivel close Clearance elbows with 90-degree turns Model (PM08X10077DS), on the back of the dryer and install to the right side of the wall. The deliver guy push the dryer back to the wall, but it add 3 more inches on the front of the dryer and it not match to the next washer machine. Can the delivery guy install on the right the right side of the cabinet? If they do, will it be free to install on right side of cabinet to right side to the wall, so we can push dryer back to wall to make it even to next to washer machine. The Clearance elbows is too big to to put behind the dryer against the back of the wall and it make more depth. The deliver guy did not try or giving me an advice on which is better for the dryer. He installed my dryer today, so is that not too late for them to come back and change to put duct on the right side of cabinet instead of back side?

I'm going through the installation process right now. Bringing in an outside contractor will cost $75/ hour for duct installation plus leveling plus whatever parts may be needed. The duct could add 4-5 inches to the overall depth, which means a matching washer with the same overall depth will have to be pulled away from the wall to get frontal alignment. Make sure you never drop anything into the back space. You have to go fishing, move the machines, or write it off.

connecting two 90 together

Is this coupling used to connect the 2 90's together or do they slip together?
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Keith, Thank you for your inquiry on the GE Universal Gas and Electric Dryer Duct Kit model # PM08X10077DS. Proper venting is critical to the operation of the dryer. I would recommend to look at the installation instructions for the dryer. Yes, the kist can be sused to separate to 90 degee elbows. If using 2 90 degree elbows, the length of run is reduced to 45 feet. For best results separate all turns by at least 4 feet of straight duct including distance between last turn and the exhaust hood. I hope this helps. Donna with GE

can I vent gtx18gsmj1ww throught the floor and out the basement wall

I would like to put our dryer on the main floor but would like to use the vent that already exits in the basement which would go through the floor on the main floor with two 90 degree elbows and a run of eight feet straight out the wall in the basement would this be alright or would it cause to much back pressure to cut out the dryer\/

How much extra space/depth do I need for the duct?

My washer/dryer space is 33 1/2 inches deep. The gas dryer (LG) I would like to buy is 28 3/8 deep. Will I have enough space for both the dryer and the duct? The H.D. person says it's iffy. There is one dryer (Hotpoint) that is only 25 inches deep, but I would like to match my LG washer with the LG dryer if possible.
Asked by: auntieannie
Yes Auntieannie, you should have enough room if you are going to use the Close Elbows provided in the kit. At best, you will have 4-1/2" between the dryer and wall.....for sure 5". According to the measurements you listed, this will work. If the dryer has a recessed cavity where the exhaust port does not allow for attachment of the elbow, just attach the duct directly to the exhaust and bend the duct 90 degrees for your turn. Then use the other Close Elbow on the wall outlet.

GE Universal Gas and Electric Dryer Duct Kit Model # PM8X10077DS. Can I curve it about 45* to go around a corner of a wall?

Asked by: Anonymous
Newt, now that I have worked with this metal flex duct in quite a lot of detail, I can reaffirm that curving it 45* is no problem at all. 180* is no problem, but you do need quite a bit of room to fit it into. The folded-metal construction of the ducting is quite clever and adaptable. It is possible to punch through the side of the sheet metal by mistake, so it takes a little care. Cutting it to a length is easy, as I said before. As said before, open and inspect the contents of any box at Home Depot, no matter how factory-sealed it looks. The first one of these I bought had been a return and had been mucked with - it was serviceable for my needs, but was not out-of-the-factory.

Universal Gas and Electric Dryer Duct Kit is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from This company ONLY mails one elbow in this package! This company ONLY mails one elbow in this package! I had to order another whole kit just to complete the job. The picture shows 2 elbows and states plural elbows. False advertising this is. Spent over an hour on phone about the two kits. What a run around i Got!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as described, but still great I bought this new in a factory sealed box. There was only one elbow NOT two as depicted. Luckily my dryer exhaust is horizontal and not vertical. Two clamps were included. The screw clamps are much faster to install than lesser spring clamps. The elbow and semi-rigid vent ducting is constructed of very thick aluminum. It holds bends well and resists denting and kinking very well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from all parts do not come with vent . IT says on the box that it comes with two 90's,it does not,so you have to go back to the store and get another 90.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product. Be sure all the parts are there!! The box has been opened- always. This is a good item. The elbows require extra clearance for sheet metal flanges. Like many Home Depot items, CHECK THE BOX!! SOMEBODY has pilfered a key part. (see the previous review). The box has ALWAYS been opened by somebody else, at H.D. -- If you want a serious dryer installation, this is a good, adaptable, choice.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not all pieces come with product that say should come with it The pictures shows and description indicates two elbows but only one came with the kit. Ended up having to go to the store to buy another elbow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I am glad other have posted about this after they state this it only comes with one 90 elbow?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor quality This is cheaply made. I'm surprised that a company of GE's stature would put their name on it. It was very difficult to position properly on the vent outlets. The metal began to pull apart as I worked with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and easy to install Bought this to go along with a new dryer. In the past I've fought with the flexible duct ends trying to get them to fit over the fitting on the dryer and the wall and keep the duct from getting crushed when the dryer gets pushed back against the wall. I bought this item hoping those problems would go away. Success! Super easy to install onto the dryer and the wall fittings. The fitting on the wall wasn't quite round so it required a bit of massaging to allow the elbow from the duct to slide on - once the wall fitting was round again installation was a snap. The way the elbows bend they protect the duct from getting crushed either from being smashed against the wall or having too sharp of a bend - they duct flows great and is very quiet. I bought some extra clamps that were easier to install than the ones supplied in the box. The ones in the box will likely work fine but the ones I bought have a socket attachment for tightening and I like them better. The unit is a bit more expensive than a simple duct with a few clamps but the quality is great and makes install just a bit easier. I'm sure it'll last the duration.
