Flimsy plastic breaks way too easy. Thanks GE for making another cheap disposable product!

The filter wrench is a basic tool that should last for years. Does the job nicely.

The Solution to the plastic wrench is the Superb Wrench #11 for the Ge Smart water filters housings. Superb Wrench makes a filter wrench out of steel with a long handle that wrench will not break.

I broke 3 of these tools in a row! The filter canister did not budge. I resorted to using an oil filter wrench with towel. Do NOT recommend doing so, but it worked once, so far. I should add, the tool did work seemingly well for the first few filter changes, however, I did feel a little "give" in the tool every time I used it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by kiara broke several of those - perhaps tightened canister is affecting this, but the wrenches break too often
Had being using this GE filtration system for many years. Tired of replacing the wrenches and am looking for system replacement to have less stressful maintenance of it.

I had just moved in to my home. When I discovered I had on wrench for my filter, so I bought this to open my existing water filter that was in my home. I live 30 miles one way so I had it sent for less than I could travel to the store, it arrived in a very short time, like 3 days.
Thanks Home Depot
