Customer Questions & Answers

can one button activate two door chimes.

above question is regarding GE Wireless Door Chime. Model # 19216.

Hello bankerfred and thank you for your question. Yes you can activate two door chimes with one button using the GE Wireless Door Chime with 1 Button Plug-in (Model # 19216 and Internet # 202453746). Set the chimes and the button to the same frequency, choose a mounting location that is not farther than 150 feet from the chime unit location, and ensure the push button is not mounted on metal, near metal studs or near the floor. Best wishes on your project.

can you please tell me how the bell attaches to the door or the door frame? Do they stick on or do they need to be mounted? Thanks for your help!

Hi Steph B. the door bell push button mounts either using the screws or the adhesive double sided tape, that is supplied with the kit. The chime itself has to be plugged into an electrical outlet and then you turn the switch on.

What is the maximum distance it can be heard from, and how many walls in between will it be heard thriugh

Hi Norm, Thank you for your question. I did reach out to the manufacturer on your question, and below is their response to you: “Unfortunately, we do not have a specific measure to answer your question about the GE 19216. There are too many variables to account for (building construction and materials, hearing acuteness, and other conditions) in order to provide a specific measure. Generally, feedback offered to Jasco Products Company directly from consumers who have purchased this product indicate this chime can be clearly heard in small and medium sized homes. Should the unit be purchased and more sound needed, another unit can be placed in another part of the house to offer more sound to another area.” Hope this helps.

What is used to install this (screws needed? sticky back tape?)

Would like to know the install method before purchasing.

Greetings, My name is Tom, also known as HD116 at Home Depot's How to Community. I am here today addressing a few product questions and saw yours. I own one of these, and the button can be installed using two screws that are provided, or you could use exterior grade two sided tape. Thank you for your question and sorry for the delay in response.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great door chime for a great price! Have had it for some time, great chimes, easy install, very happy I bought it. Purchased 2 from Lowe's previously (another make model and manufacturer) both were junk. This ones a winner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GE Plug In Wireless Door Bell-Works Great I previously owned one of these wireless plug in door bells but was unable to find a replacement button, nor could I find the same door bell in the local Home Depot stores. I preferred the plug in type to eliminate the need of changing batteries. I ordered this one online and I'm very happy with it. It has a slightly different look from my original, but works the same. I'm very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks slightly different but works great It does what it says and just set the switches to the ring tone pattern you prefer. They seem to have changed the way the ringer parts looks slightly; instead of being perforated it has curved areas but it looks the same size and the button looks the same.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor I'll need to take it off the door and visit a store for a replacement. The doorbell sticks, so once it is pressed, we hear the doorbell ring until we get it unstuck. I am not impressed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is great! I bought this product because it uses a larger battery, rather than button-type batteries as in most other products, which only last for a couple of months. I have been using this for less than 2 months, but I can tell that the battery will last much longer. The construction is of high quality as well. It is a great buy!
