Product Overview

GREAT STUFF Pond and Stone is a polyurethane-based foam sealant designed for use in water features. By expanding to fill gaps and cracks, it works as a water-resistant sealant to help direct the flow of water in waterfall, pond and streambed construction to go where you want it to go, not under or behind rocks. The foam is black to blend in among the stones and shadows. It cures in 8 hours to create a water-shedding bond for stone, rock, masonry, concrete and most other building materials. It's perfect for water features from fountains to koi ponds because it's safe for fish.

  • Water-shedding aquascape, landscape/hardscape foam filler, sealer and adhesive for damp or dry application
  • Adheres to stone and rock and is safe for fish
  • Expands to fill gaps to direct water flow over rocks and secures stones without mortar
  • Black colored foam has all-direction dispensing
  • Repairs cracks and holes in trees
  • Cures in 8 hours; one 12 oz. can is equal to up to 19 tubes of caulk

I have a pond that has a small leak. Can I use this Pond and Stone Insulating Foam to fill in the crack and help the leak?
Asked by: Pat
This product dispenses a foam that when cures is not structurally very strong and as the manufacturer states it is designed for stone applications to direct water, so if the leak is due to a whole in a plastic pond liner or crack in a fiberglass pond I would look elsewhere for a more reliable fix such as a vulcanized rubber or fiber glass patch that is safe for aquatic animals. If the leak is between laid stone of brick above the water line or by a waterfall then this may be a good product to prevent the leak.

We have an area under our cement walk where the dirt has eroded. Could the foam be used to fill this space and would it provide any support?

Asked by: jess
As this would provide absolutely no structural support I'd advise against it.

I have a wood shed on a concrete slab. Rain water seeps under the sill plate. Would you use the Pond sealer or a different product. Thanks

Asked by: FOD
Yes I would, but I would put it very carefully on the outside bottom, that would keep water from laying underneath your shed sill plate.

Can this product be trimmed and sanded like other great stuff foams?

Asked by: willie
Yes you can trim and sand this product if you want to as it has exactly the same consistency as the other Great Stuff foams when it has cured, but if you are using this for water replant purposes you may not want to lose the smooth skin that uncut foam gets, if you are feeling very brave you may consider waiting long enough for the skin to cure while the center is still soft and push the bead into shape, but beware, if you don't have patience and try this too soon you'll be picking off that great stuff foam off of your fingers for weeks.

12 oz. Pond and Stone Insulating Foam Sealant is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good product I was using this foam to seal around the rocks in my waterfall to avoid leaks. It has worked great. It had adequate expansion, but not excessive to fill the voids around the rocks. It sets up fairly quickly. You can sprinkle sand over the foam and shape it around the rocks when is has partially set, to give it a color matching the rock. Worked great!

Also be sure to wear gloves and skin protection that you are willing to discard because it is extremely hard to get off of your hands even with acetone, goof off or adhesive remover.

It's just messy and hard to remove if you make a mistake. One can of the 4 I bought didn't have as much propellant as the others and I wasn't able to get as much of the product out of it.
