What shower head is it compatible with?

What shower head is it compatible with?
Asked by: CuriousZ
Any shower head that screws to a 1/2 inch male arm will work. In other words, almost any shower head. It will only connect to a 1/2 inch MALE fitting at the wall however, so some modification may be needed.

Customer Reviews

Rainshower Shower Arm in Oil Rubbed Bronze is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some design issues, but good overall... This shower arm to replaces an existing angle arm in my bathroom that resulted in the shower head being to low and angled. The U-shape of this new Rainshower arm results in the shower head attaching slightly higher than the opening on the wall, and the head attachment is directed straight down, instead of an angle. I was unable to install immediately, since not all parts are included. If you are installing into the female opening of a shower elbow, like most people would have, you will need to first obtain a ½ inch close nipple (or short nipple), since this arm will only connect to a male fitting. Nowhere is that stated, not even in the illustrated directions. I was unable to obtain a stainless nipple, and did not want to use galvanized, since it would likely rust over time and fuse all of the fittings together, possibly leaving a rust stain on my tiled wall as well. I resorted to a brass fitting, costing around $6, which worked and was hidden by the included flange plate. This plate is unique and won’t be able to be replaced by normal one of a standard size. Installing the tee to the brass fitting was accomplished by the rather crude method of inserting a large screwdriver through the tee and turning until tight and positioned. Thankfully, I didn’t seem to damage the interior seating part of the tee, since the rest went together more or less according to the illustration and without leaking. The arm does not pivot back and forth on the tee, although it appears that it should. The screw-on bottom piece for the tee does not have a flattened surface to be able to use with a wrench, and I wad concerned about marring the surface, so needed to be extra careful with a pliers. Overall the installed arm does what I wanted. I am disappointed that the directions weren’t clearer about additional needed parts, and that there wasn’t a flattened surface on the tee section which would have allowed the use of a wrench. For the price, this seems to be a design flaw. Still, I am pleased with the final product.
