PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Gama Sonic Baytown solar light fixture GS-106F in weathered bronze with bright-white LEDs is the perfect energy-saving and money-saving replacement for post-mounted electric or gas-powered outdoor lighting. This rustproof cast-aluminum solar lantern, which features a classic look with an attractive finial and a powder-coated weathered-bronze finish, fits any existing three in.-diameter lamp post with no electrical wiring needed. Just install it, and let the sun do the rest. The Baytown's internal Lithium Ion battery pack charges when sunlight hits the fixture's integrated solar panels. At dusk, six bright-white LEDs will turn on automatically will shine at a brightness of 80 lumens for up to eight hours on a full solar charge. Gama Sonic's patented cone reflector enhances the multidirectional light output and glow. Beyond providing a superior combination of light brightness and duration, Gama Sonic solar light fixtures are known for their physical durability. The Baytown's four monocrystalline silicon solar panels are protected by weather-resistant, cleanable tempered glass that helps ensure long-lasting reliability. The replaceable, plugged battery pack is good for about 1,000 charges. Recharging speed varies based on weather conditions, but generally it takes about six hours of sunlight on the solar panels to achieve a full solar charge of the battery pack after it's been completely run down. For any unexpected issues, the unit is covered by a one-year warranty.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Solar post light This light looks good. When working, it gives a fairly dim white light. The main problem is that in the fall light it lasts for only about 2-3 hours, before going out. It probably needs more solar absorption to work properly. It is hard to find solar lights that do a good job. I have yet to find a good low voltage post light that one might use instead of a solar light. November 14, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good appearance but some quality issues The light is attractive and works as advertised, however, the quality of the product is not up to Home Depot standards. When the product arrived it was packed quite well but the parts didn’t fit and some were missing. The hole in the top cover of the light was too small for the threaded finial post to go through, which required that I drill the hole to enlarge it to the correct diameter. The second nut and lock washer was also missing that holds the post in place. The instructions suggest that if there’s insufficient sunshine due to overcast, clouds, etc. that the light should be switched off for a couple of days to let the batteries get fully charged before using the light. The switch is on the bottom side of the light cover and requires that the light be partially disassembled to get to the switch. This is not a problem but I question the design. Overall, for the price and appearance I’m satisfied with the purchase. June 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Does what I wanted it to I bought this because the old light at the end of our drive wasn't working and I didn't want to pay an electrician to dig a trench to run new wires. Compared to the cost of that, this light was a bargain, but I think 50 would have been a more reasonable price. It does not give off a ton of light, but we are just using it to mark the end of the driveway, so it does the job fine for that. So far it lasts all through the night, but sunset is around 9 and sunrise is around 6:30 so I'll be curious to see how it does in the winter when it's dark for 10-11 hours. August 3, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by 4.5 These lights were just put in, so not too much history with them. But so far, so good! Lights look great, the quality of materials is excellent, and the installation was easy. The cost was a bit much, but hopefully they will last a while. The light from the lampo is good, but not as bright as a conventional hard-wired light. But still better than most! May 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great alternative to a real bulb So it isnt as bright as a hard wired light, but it does have a lithium ion that seems to really store energy well. Provides enough light to safely navigate from the cars in the drive way, to the front door, and a bit more than the cheap solar on a stick lights. Wont light your whole yard, but I'd say a good 20-30' radius with enough light not to trip over something. I got the bronze, impressed with the metal body, and easy 3 screw tightening installation. Exactly what I needed, though I still think 100 bucks is a little much. Ironically it is one of the cheaper ones out there. If I get more than 3 years out of it, I'll be happy. Wife loves it as well.
