Answer:
Mine is similar. I'm using it to bring things to the garage attic. I built a frame to support the unit and total weight.

Answer:
Power cord is short about a foot long. I used an extension cord to get the power from a wall outlet to the ceiling.

Electric Motorized Storage Lift System is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product I use this lift for my bike. It gets it out of the way. Installation was fairly easy but with my high garage ceiling my 6 ft ladder was a little short. I don't use the attachment cables with the bike but use some short slings from REI that are easier to attach. The lift cables tend to stack up on the drum and then fall off so the bike jerks around when lifting. I just push the bike from side to side when it lifts to minimize this problem. The lift is fairly noisy and being attached to the joists it transmits that noise to the house. All in all a good system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This hoist was just what I needed for my Kayak. It took a little longer than expected to understand how to mount it on the garage ceiling. It is powerful enough to lift my 100 lb. Kayak up to within about 25 inches of the garage ceiling. It is the convenience factor that is so nice - just push the button and no more heavy lifting. I would purchase this type of hoist any day over the manual hoists. Extra straps, hooks and a net are furnished also.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Garage lift Purchased the garage lift and basket. Basket has no assembly instructions, could not find on web site. Cable on list does not spool correctly. Contacted the manufacturer, still not working correctly and manufacturer did not respond to subsequent e-mails. All and All, still not a bad item, just have to get the issues straightened out. Ordered for pick up in store, came promptly. Store staff was great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from easy to assemble, works great. We had the bikes off the floor 42 minutes after we opened the box. The assembly instructions were OK, but it is so well designed that assembly is really iintuitive once you place all the components on a bench and just look at them. Since we have 121/2 foot ceilings the biggest challenge was getting a ladder tall enough.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It does the job It works, but I opened the motor cover to hard wire the power cord and found the cover had crushed the insulation on one of the wires when it was assembled at the factory. There was definitely a risk of a short, so I replaced that wire. It works as described, but I recommend you remove the cover and inspect the wiring before you install.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value for the Money Easy to install. A little noisy but it's in my garage so no big deal. Lifts my kayak with little effort...just what I needed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great back saver! The only downside is that it doesn't always roll back up level. The cables don't roll smoothly onto the spool. Other than that it is a great product!
