This paint is exactly what we had hoped for! We are in the south, it is hot, it rains a lot, and tons of humidity. Wood fences do not last too long here. This paint really seals the wood better than expected! Have tried other stains and paints for our horse fences, but this is the only one I will use from now on.
Envision thick sticky black tar, that is what the substance resembles. Do Invest in tons of gloves and lots of paint brushes, and anticipate scrubbing your skin where it touches. It is truely water proof, and thick black substance, but perfect to do the Job right.
If applied evenly, it only takes one coat!

Goes on dark brown but dries a beautiful black. I brushed it on as I think it was too thick to spray. It's gorgeous

Good paint. Happy with it. They say water clean up but if it starts drying you need paint thinner.

This paint is very easy to work with and absolutely beautiful on a wood fence. We fenced in our back yard with wood fencing and painted it using this product and it is stunning! There is a reason they call it Black Beauty!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chyral Worked as below grade wood protectant
I bought this paint and had it shipped to store (it isn't stocked near me). I used this black beauty asphalt fence paint as an coating (soil side) for a wood retaining wall of sorts I built out of landscaping ties and rebar as stakes. I used a big brush to apply it. It is thick enough that 1) only one coat was required, 2) I doubt this could be pressure-sprayed as it says on the can--others reviewers here tried and clogged their sprayers I think. It dried tack-free in about a day or so of warm, dry weather. I recommend using an inexpensive brush and just throw it away--it seemed impossible to clean from the brush without using tons of thinner--it's really not "paint" but it did its job better than any stain or sealant I know of. It even stuck well to the rebar. I have no proof of this, but I'd be careful using this on anything near edible garden stuff like veggie plants 'cause I'd imagine the asphalt can leach into the soil.

This paint is thick and hard to use.. You CAN NOT use a sprayer and this paint requires you to use multiple brushes and rollers as they get gunked up really quickly.. This is not really normal paint but a Tar type paint.. The worst part is, I have to do the entire thing again this year (1 year coverage).. Would not buy or use again..
