Answer:
It is intended for Romex. However, It is a frustrating device to load, keep loaded, and to use. It misfires as much as it fires properly. I have a whole lot of tools, and I can say this is the one I've cursed at the most. I bought two of these, and they both had the same problems.

Answer:
Yes. The two larger blue and white staples should work on Romex.

If you are stapling perpendicular to a joist there is no way to push on the top front of the stapler to apply pressure to the gun due to the rounded top. Very poor design, I plan on returning and eating the cost of the staples.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good purchase I bought this product beleiving that it would work as stated in the cover page. Unfortunetly it did not perform as stated. It is a waste of money and a trip to the home depot. The stapler did not staple the cable at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time Out of the package and freshly loaded, would not "fire". Could squeeze the handle all the way down, nothing happens, staple falls out when gun lifted away from wall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Bother! As a remodeling contractor, I find it sad to say, don't bother purchasing and giving this tool a try. More often than not this GB staple gun won’t even come close to pushing the staple's nails into framing lumber. Especially if the framing is solid, old dry wood as found the attics of in most homes that require remodeling. The nails on the GB cable staples are quite soft and bend easily when attempting to finish up the nailing with a hammer. Additionally, the staple gun is very difficult to pull and use with only one hand and easily jams and wastes staples. Use of this tool is difficult and tends to take more time than traditional hammer in style cable fasteners. Say - isn’t that why you wanted a staple gun in the first place as it is “supposed” to save time, and make the work a little easier!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1 staple out of 15 goes in Ive bought thousands of dollars worth of Machinery from Home Depot and this is only the second item that I've ever taken back. I was really disappointed with it and I almost didn't buy it because of the reviews, but I gave them the benefit of doubt. I returned it about 2 weeks after I got it opened package and they took it back without any question. There's a mechanism in the handle that doesn't make any sense and should be redesigned so it can work better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute garbage. A nightmare to use. About 8/10 times the staple does not enter correctly or does not enter the wood at all. When it does, you have to go back with a hammer. Worst part is that the handles has a large travel and at the ratchet point needs a lot of force. This means one handed operation is almost impossible. When using two handed, the grip is in the wrong place. Absolutely useless product. Gonna return it tomorrow.
