CableBoss Black Staple Gun is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from difficult to operate when it works The unit fires sporadically and wastes a lot of staples. I guess the front plate has to be depressed to fire. I am wondering if some WD40 would make the trigger mechanism work better. If this doesn't do it, Its going back to the store along with the unused staples

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful Stapler! Do NOT Buy! I bought this cable stapler at Home Depot, to use for stapling ethernet, phone, and video camera wires. I am a very strong "man's man", but this stapler takes 2 guerrillas and an elephant to press down. This is only for stapling data wires, so it should not be so hard to press down! I own other big staplers for insulation and such that take the T-50 metal staples, and they are no where near as hard as this thing. Oh, and the other thing, this GB stapler has so much stuff around the head, you can not staple anything in a straight line, it is impossible to line up. I dare you to staple 2 staples that are lined up. I am going to look for another brand of cable wire style stapler, that hopefully will work better than this GB stapler. Stay away, stay FAR away from this one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Jams way too much to be useful I bought this staple gun in the hopes of making my 12-2 and 14-2 NM cable tack-downs that much easier. Unfortunately, after loading it up and getting started I found it positively loves to jam when actually up against wood, to the point that 3/4 attempts at tacking down a cable would result in my having to use a pair of needle-nose plyers to unjam it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TOO MUCH EFFORT TO USE!!!!!!! I took a gamble on this with the reviews being split. But the bad reviews where spot on! I had the same issues. Required way too much effort to squeeze the handle and half the time when fully squeezed it didn't put a staple in and jammed. When I thought it was jammed I pointed to the ground and squeezed and it worked. What a pain. I purposely bought this to make my Ethernet wire routings easier. Instead I got so frustrated with the use of it and forced myself to keep using it that I ended up nicking a wire and now I have to re-run that one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time Followed instructions using gb white staples. First staple jammed. Cleared jam with screwdriver. Tried on stud. Next three staples didn't penetrate wood. Fourth staple jammed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable Takes lots of effort to squeeze. Misfires frequently, as other reviewers have noted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Its a good product. I used the 3/8 white staples to tack led strip lights outside a friend's house for the holidays.it does take a little force to get it to shoot but thats just the way it has to be. Otherwise the staples would not penetrate into harder woods. Also you have to hold it steady on the surface. If you do not the stapler will not fully fire ,which is a good thing. Its less of a chance of nicking your cable .
