Answer:
Take the torch in one hand with the Gardner Bender logo facing towards you. You will notice a fine line right below the logo.
Put your other hand on that side of the torch and pull both sides apart. Once you have taken the casing apart you will find a small lighter inside.

Take the torch in one hand with the Gardner Bender logo facing towards you. You will notice a fine line right below the logo.
Put your other hand on that side of the torch and pull both sides apart. Once you have taken the casing apart you will find a small lighter inside.
You’ll notice that the lighter adjustment is facing a hole in front of the torch for easy adjustment. The case cannot be closed unless the lighter is put back in this same position.
Remove the lighter from the lower portion of the casing and turn it upside down. You will find a docking port for the lighter to be re-fueled. You will want to re-fuel the lighter in this position.
Put the lighter in your non-dominant hand and pick up the fuel container in your dominant hand. While holding the lighter upside down, insert the fuel containers fuel tip into the center of the refill valve of the lighter. Now press down with firm pressure and it will begin to fill the lighter. Don’t hold it down for too long, that will cause it to leak out. Instead you’ll want to use a pulsing motion as to not get sprayed with fluid.
These instructions to fuel the lighter are also on the Butane container.
This butane fueling bottle is like a whipped cream bottle, if you hold it up-right all you will get is the coolant and not the butane.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst product I have ever bought This "torch" is a lighter.... Not only does it never light, but its so hard to press the button down that I end up using 2 hands! Then the saftey button has to be moved every single time then after all that, no light. Ordered a trusted one off amazon.... August 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk - Why Would Home Depot even sell such a cheap product First of all, you there are no operational instructions. You're simply on your own to figure out how to get it apart, fill it, twist this, that, who knows? The piece of junk doesn't even work. Yea, I needed it and now I have to travel all the way back to return it. After all the bad reviews, why would Home Depot even sell such junk? I guess that's why I went to their competitor or will be to get the good quality product. Never did get it to work and nothing but a waist of time and money. For those of you on the clock trying to get a job done, don't depend on this product for anything. Pure junk! June 1, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy this product! It will not stay lit. It's just a cheap piece of plastic. I didn't even end up using it because it was easier to use an actual lighter. There are much better products for the same price. June 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This thing is... Garbage. First of all, the lighter inside the housing is weak. Second if you're thinking to use cheap .50 clear lighter refills, most won't fit. Third, you'll never need to worry about either of the earlier two points because it won't work long enough to warrant refilling. I think, if one had a choice between this item and lighting dollar bills on fire and then throwing them in the toilet after, the latter would be better, less frustrating and probably, a cheaper option. I chose to smash mine to pieces with a hammer rather than return it. :-) February 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Impossible To Use The butane tourch that I bought was so poorly made that it was impossible to even put butane in the tourch. There was an indentation in the plastic but no hole where the fill tube should go. April 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ABSOLUTE TRASH! It's a lighter that doesn't light! Just like someone already posted, there is a piece of trash 25 cent lighter inside the plastic housing. I have tried adjusting the flow rate every which way and the only way it will light is on the lowest setting and by using another lighter to get it started. Even after starting it with another lighter it will not stay lit. Total piece of trash. Home Depot should stop selling this right away, it's only going to continue to infuriate people. Now I have to drive all the way back across town to return it. I think Home Depot owes me a free functional product just for having to spend the fuel. December 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Complete Junk!!! Do not buy this item, powered by a cheap cigarette lighter. Does not work at all. March 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't work As others have said, it's just a cheap lighter in a plastic case. I could never actually get it to ignite. I tried adjusting the lighter on the inside all sorts of ways but it never worked. This is a complete trash product. January 17, 2016
