Answer:
It has a pickup hose. You can use any container to put the pickup hose in and that will do the same as a detergent tank. I use a pump sprayer as I don't like to put detergents through the machine. Not all detergents are pressure washer safe. If you are going to run detergents through it, verify that it is pressure washer safe or it will destroy the gaskets and shorten the life of the pressure washer.

I don't like the idea of running chemicals through the pressure washer pump anyway, so I specifically had no need for that added feature. I use a two gallon (pump up) garden sprayer to put on detergent, bleach, etc. and use my pressure washer for clear water, pressure washing, only.
It works perfectly for me.

Yes you can use a pressure washer if you have a well but your well pump must have enough flow (gpm) and pressure(psi) required by the washer manufacture.

Answer:
you MUST maintain the recommended water input pressure. The source of the clean water should not make any difference. However, now that I have said that, mineral content can leave deposits and eventually effect the pump. You should use the pump cleaner, occasionally, that the manufacturer recommends. Additionally, be sure to drain the system when you put it away.

The water supply must be adequate to handle greater than 3.8 gallons per minute and no less than 30 psi. Do not siphon standing water for the water supply, and ensure that you use only cold water (less than 100°F).

Generac makes many, if not all, of their own engines. I did a little research on this one but I can't be 100% certain. The engine itself (not the overall piece of equipment) does have "Generac Power Systems" on it.
I like this machine a lot.

Its a 25' foot hose, so that may be a little bit of a stretch for you, as its tightly coiled and may pull the machine over if it gets too tight. Unless you have a way to get the machine higher off the ground - its light enough to be sitting on a scaffold of some sort or a platform.

A standard ceiling height is eight feet so a two story townhouse would be about 16' to 18' (sixteen feet to eighteen feet) to the soffits, assuming that the townhouse has its first floor at ground level. Of course the wand assenbly adds another three to four feet of length.
On top of that, extension wands can be purchased that will extend to 24' (twenty-four feet) by themselves. That will allow you to stand on the ground and reach the soffits of a two story house with ease. That sure beats hanging off a ladder.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 138 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product I purchased my Generac Power Washer based on the positive reviews I read, and have not been disappointed. Assembly was a cinch; nothing more than reading the instructions and attaching a few parts. It started the first time I pulled the cord, and has continued to start on the first or second pull ever since. Pleanty of power for most jobs. My only complaint was when I tried to change the oil as recommended after the first few hours of operation. The drain plug is hard to reach and calls for a metric socket, which I didn't have I couldn't budge it with vice grips. I ended up draining the oil out of where you put it in, which was a mess. Other than that, a fine product. November 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, very minor equipment drawback Excellent product. Very easy to put together and use. All of the accessories it comes with are good as well except for one minor issue. The holder where you store the hose when you are done doesn't hold the hose very well. The hose unravels cause it needs to be a bigger, sturdier holder. Everything else is great. Big tires for ease of movement, the holders for the different tips....would recommend to a friend. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value So far, this has been a great product. Since getting this product 2 weeks ago, I have pressure washed the driveway, patio, boat, and started on the wood fence. My wife loves it too. The only problem is that she keeps finding me more projects to do. A great product for the price. March 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good value for a solid product! Delivery was quick, as was the assembly of the snap-together handle. No problems at all in getting the engine started. The oil fill is a little awkward - you will need a small funnel. It started right up after a few pulls. (I don't like how the rope pull goes by a metal edge - if it ever kicked back and pulled in the rope, that's where your hand would hit.) The power and pressure seem just right for a homeowner - but keep in mind that pressure washers can pull skin right off you, or worse, if you accidentally aim the nozzle at yourself at close range even for an instant. Wear long pants and safety goggles with a strap. August 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does what a 2500 psi 2.3 g/m PW should It works great. Please read the directions. Inexperienced users can learn a lot from them. I know I did. This is my first gas powered Pressure Washer. The guy who says he loses pressure on and off as he goes doesn't understand why. The pressure washer is drawing 2.3 gallons of water per minute from his garden hose. If the PSI drops below 30 as a result, the hose will contract because of the vacuum created in it. That squeezes off the water from flowing. until it can "recharge". Any sufficiently powered pressure washer will behave the same way on your system. Get yourself a solid garden hose that wont contract under vacuum. Or add a pressure booster to your water supply. May 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for everything around the house I bought this for my boyfriend because he refused to use an electric one and this was within my price range. As far as I can tell it's awesome; he has used it almost everyday cleaning the house, edging the driveway, washing cars, de-mildewing the deck. It's easy to start up and has more than enough power (it's actually a little scary, the 0° nozzle blasted through our blacktop driveway) but the 25° nozzle is perfect for cars and house. Only thing it doesn't have is the reservoir for detergent but it does have the capability to add one on; just have to go back to HD and get the parts. Awesome purchase, very happy. August 7, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super Duper I've had this for about three weeks and it's been great. The driveway is white again and the decks are cleaner than they've been since they were new. I added a brass quick connection at the garden hose port and have a brass shutoff valve on the end of the garden hose right behind the quick connect. Quickly disconnecting the hose makes it much easier to move the pressure washer and set up again. I did purchase a 15 degree nozzle, from a local source, because it gives a little more umph on the really tough spots. The unit only comes with 25 degrees and a straight stream plus a soap nozzle. The 15 degree nozzle is a worthwhile addition. This is a nice piece of equipment. I'm finished with electric pressure washers. September 11, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall nice machine The machine is made very well. It wouldn't start right away with the choke on. Turned off the choke and it started on the first pull. It holds quite a bit of fuel, which is good because it USES quite a bit of fuel. The hose it comes with is cheap and kinks easily. The hook to hold the hose is useless. Everything else about this pressure washer is top notch. It is well built and solid. Assembly was a snap. It ran flawlessly. It is well balanced and doesn't tip over easily like some that I have used in the past. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. May 12, 2013
