Customer Questions & Answers

where is the connection from the generator

This picture is clearly for an indoor model when you zoom it can be read on the label so what does the outdoor model look like? I cannot see where the plug connects from the generator to the switch is it just me or is it missing?
Asked by: alangski
Generac’s model number 6379 has a NEMA3 rated enclosure. This enclosure allows for both indoor and outdoor use. For a complete installation, a power inlet box should be installed on the exterior of the home. The power inlet box will accept the other end of the cord that is connected to the generator’s control panel, and the power inlet box will be hard wired to the manual transfer switch. For installation purposes, an electrician will wire priority circuits into the manual switch. When the power goes out, the homeowner plugs the cord into the generator and into the power inlet box, starts the generator, and then manually transfers the switch from utility to generator power.
