There is a throttle lever to manually adjust the throttle but the pressure washer will not automatically throttle itself down when you release the sprayer's handle.

Answer:
Yes -- there is a horizontal throttle adjustment lever on the engine that allows you to take the engine down to a low speed. Don't know if I would call it "idle" or not but you can reduce the rpm's considerably. This does not happen automatically. In times of low use you must manually adjust the lever/speed at the engine. It's a great pressure washer. Highly recommended.

Answer:
No. The nozzle you use regulates pressure. By restricting the flow with the nozzle, much like you do by placing your thumb over the end of a garden hose, the pressure washer produces pressure. There are several nozzles.

Answer:
No. Effective pressure determined by engine speed and nozzle selection. Standard operation is to run the engine at full speed and regulate effective pressure by choosing between the five included nozzles and distance between nozzle and surface being washed.

Answer:
The pressure is fixed by the pump. You effectively adjust the output pressure by selecting an appropriate tip. Soap is like a high pressure hose, as you put on smaller tips the intensity ramps up. The smallest tip will etch concrete.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 194 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The only issue is the hose, as we had to replace twice ( we have had the machine for 3 weeks only!)...The first one bursts the first day of use, and the second one, generic one bought as recommended by salesperson at the store, is ready to burst! We have ordered a new one online ( a Generac, this time). Otheriwse the washer works great, as it is plenty powerful! October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product Great instructions, started up easily. Used for several hours the first day with no problems. Switching heads is quick and easy. Will update in 6 months to give more accurate assessment of reliability but so far so good. October 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good as advertised Was easy to assemble it. Easy instructions. I was able to put it to work right away. As of now I have not used it other than fir washing the windows. I did test it in the driveway and brick. You can tell the difference rught away without too much effort. Will continue tomorrow, hopefully without headaches. October 4, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Pressure Washer Pressure washer was ordered online, it arrived on time. Assembly was fast and easy. Engine cranks easily, lots of power to do any home job toy may have and runs a long time on a tank of fuel. Nice choice of tips to choose from depending on the task. Reasonable price makes it a great value. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Generac Loved it! As a female operating this equipment I thought it was easy to start and operate. September 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good pressure washer overall First one came in damaged. Second one was fine. Works good. Starts fairly easy. Needs rubber tires. October 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it advertises Pros: Phenomenal spray power. Had to learn to lean into it like a fireman hose at times it has so much force on the wand, otherwise it would make me fall over if I wasn't ready for it. Used it 4 times already. Started on the second pull every time. The manual says it has a 3/4 tank but the "don't fill above this line" in the tank doesn't let you fill to 3/4, more like 1/2. 1/2 a tank runs about an hour. Did my 500 sq ft of deck plus rails in 2 hours. Love the 30 ft hose and easy connections and easy ability to switch out the spray heads, plus the storage rack for the heads. Shouldn't ever lose them that way. Overall construction seemed sturdy although the little platform you are supposed to step on when yanking the cord to start it is kind of small to get a good stance on. Cons: Hate hate hate the oil tank reservoir fill position. The paper funnel that came in the kit is a joke. I ended up tilting the whole thing up and pouring oil in slowly, even that was tricky. Would have liked to have known the oil tank capacity so I knew how much to pour in. As it was, had to pour, put in plug, check level, pour in more, repeat. I haven't yet, but I assume changing the oil is not going to be fun. I can see why others warned about keeping the soap tube away from the exhaust cover. Same goes for the hose as well. I have no plans to use the soap dispenser so that isn't a problem but the instructions don't say anything about what to do if you don't connect the tube to siphon nipple. Hope it isn't a problem. Some what loud. Some what smelly exhaust. HD was great, pretty quick delivery to store. Called the next day to ask how the service was. October 15, 2016
