Customer Questions & Answers

I have GP17500E,and I need a male plug to connect to a miller welder please advise

Asked by: John
This plug is designed for applications where you need (2) different hot / phase conductors - Black & Red typically in US, (1) grounded conductor / neutral - white & (1) grounding conductor - green. Welders typically have no need for a grounded / neutral - white conductor so are usually a 3 prong plug. Look for a plug that matches the amp & volt rating of your welder & has 3 prongs. Plugs like this one that say 125 / 250 volt will all have a white / neutral setup & have 4 wires.

Does this male plug work for an oven pigtail whip to plug into an existing receptacle

The existing receptacle is the exact same prong configuration and is stamped as a nema 14-50 and 125 250 v, we are completing a kitchen remodel and need to wire the oven. Was planning on using the existing receptacle and adding this male plug to the new oven's whip. I see on other questions that they reference generators and not ovens so I want to make sure this is an acceptable use.
Asked by: jps
Unfortunately, we are unfamiliar with the wiring/cord requirements of your oven. Considering this, along with the fact that we manufacture our generator cords for use with our portable generators, we are unable to determine whether or not this particular cord is applicable for use with your specified appliance. To ensure that you are utilizing the appropriate cords for your oven and electrical power needs, we would recommend contacting the oven's manufacturer and a certified electrician in your local area.

Can the prongs of the Generac 50-Amp 125/250-Volt Male Plug be rotated 180 degrees so that the flat blades are at the bottom?

Similar to the look of the discontinued GenTran 50Amp 4-prong plug.
Asked by: Anonymous
When connecting the plug to a receptacle, the plug will need to be oriented to fit into the receptacle. The actual plug should not be opened and modified, as doing so would void the plug’s warranty, and for safety and performance reasons.
