Answer:
No, as portable generators require manual startup (via pull start or electric start options), remote starting is not an applicable option for these models.

Answer:
Due to the fact that there is no industry standard for providing decibel ratings for portable generators, we are unable to provide any sound output specifications for the GP Series generators. Please note, however, that with the low-tone muffler that is featured on the unit, we consider the sound output of the generator to be comparable to portable models of alternative manufacturers.

Answer:
Generac's GP6500E portable generator is compatible with a number of 30A manual transfer switches. To ensure that you are utilizing the appropriate switch for your backup power needs, as well as your local codes, we would recommend working with a certified electrician in your local area. Answer:
Hi Kakdiesel1! Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. Unfortunately, we are unable to install this item to a breaker in your home as they are not licensed electricians. Please partner with a qualified/licensed technician in your area. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.
Thank you for shopping Home Depot.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 281 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great generator at a great price The GP6500E is a great product for the price I paid. This is due in part to the terrific price promotion from Home Depot but I still feel that this item would be a good buy even without the promotion. There were some minor problems in assembling the unit, but once I got it started I was very pleased with its performance. There was enough power to power most everything in my house. In conclusion I am very pleased with the purchase. July 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent product. Assembly could have been a little easier but once done with that operating the generator was very easy. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use, gets the job done! I am very pleased with this product. It gets the job done as advertised. September 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Started right up, even a 110 pound person like me can do this Although I needed help to get it situated due to its weight, once the wheels were on, I was off and running by myself as a 110 pound woman with arthritis. The generator started right up. The starting directions are adhered right on top of the generator so in the time of power failure, the steps to start it are right there and easy to do. I have run some extension cords and placed them in semi permanent locations to make it even easier to switch important electrically run items over to this neat generator during a power failure. This one makes less noise than I expected. It looks to be easy to maintain and gas is easy to get into it. Glad I bought this one. June 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I have had the pleasure of not having to use my generator that I purchased just over a year ago. However for the first time this summer it was finally used but yet again not by me. During a series of severe weather outbreak a friend of mine last power due to downed trees. I offer my generator to him to help keep his basement from flooding. His intention were just to use it for the sump pump. He ended up running not only the pump, but his freezers, refrigerator, air conditioning units and other things. He used it for 40 hours straight and forgot he was even on a generator until he had to fill it after the first 27 hours of run time. October 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by To soon for this but oh well. It is really to soon to place a rating on this generator that I bought just a couple of weeks ago, and put enough gas into it to see if it would work. I put it together and the instructions were very simple. The construction is second to none. I bought this generator for emergency's only, so the quick start up doesn't really tell me what to expect other than it will start right up. I did A LOT of research prior to buying a generator and came to the conclusion that Generac was the best if not one of the best to buy. I feel safe and secure knowing that my family will have electricity when the weather goes south. Hope this helps. February 26, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by difficult product to work, poor directions and pictures THe position of these levers and buttons are all on different side s of the motor. THe oil dip stick is difficult to see the oil level on and remove; pooring gasoline is cumbersome; the manual has poor pictures to see levers and buttons. Direction are also difficult to follow. I will have to practice many times to be able to follow all the multi steps to turn on this generator August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saves my back and shoulder Was looking for a electric start generator to replace manual start generator. This one filled that need perfectly. The price was excellent and delivery time was great. Only complaint would be that we had to pick up at shipper, they wanted to have access for larger truck than standard delivery. August 16, 2016
