Answer:
Yes, Google it under Appliance Wattage Usage, and it comes right up. The most wattage, is used by heating and cooling appliances. Lights, tv, fans, computers, etc, don't use much wattage.
During Katrina, I was able to power a few lights, 32" tv, fan, and pc computer, with a similar, less quality generator from Harbor Freight, so the IX800 Generac should do better

Answer:
The iX800 portable generator does not have battery charging capabilities as it does not feature the 12 volt DC battery charger receptacle. If you are considering the iX series, the iX1400, iX1600 and iX2000 portable generators do feature the 12 volt DC battery charger receptacle for battery charging.

Answer:
Per the unit spec sheet, the iX800 is Emissions certified for US 49 States, and unfortunately does not meet California Emissions standards. As it is not CARB compliant, it is not authorized to be shipped to or sold in California.

Answer:
The iX800 portable generator is rated for a continuous output of 800 watts. You will want to ensure that all of the items you intend to run will not exceed this rating.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst purchase ever! I finally had it with this generator. Tossed it it trash. Would not start easy. In ECO mode it would quit. Worthless June 24, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Started Up, Then Quit After unpacking, I went to fill it up with oil. The oil cap is recessed and very difficult to reach. Even my wife's smaller fingers had great difficulty reaching the oil reservoir cap. You are filling oil in the blind and must stop frequently to see if the reservoir is full. The spark plug looks equally difficult to change. The starter rope is hard to pull, and I have seen much larger generators require less strength pulling the starter cord. If you have to drain the oil, the owner's manual instructs you to purchase pvc tubing that fits the oil reservoir opening, then tilt the generator. Draining the gas would be another great problem with reaching the drain plug. Generator started up finally, ran less than ten minutes, showed an overload (nothing was connected), sputtered and died. I could not restart it. I am very disappointed and do not recommend this unit. At least I had no problem returning it to a local Home Depot. January 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little unit "if you use it for it's intended use"! I purchased this little unit "solely" for camping lights and it does this perfectly. Understand that it's only 800 watts, if you want to run a refrigerator and all the camping items you want to bring, "DON"T buy this unit, it's too small. This is a fantastic unit for a fan in the tent and a light or two. I haul this unit on my ATV and it's light and very portable. It has already ran over 4+ hours with lights on and not so much as a hick-up. I broke the unit in slow and changed the oil as the manual says and have even gave it a second oil change in 10 hours time. If you want to compare this unit to others that are three times the price, don't bother… For $300+ dollars it is a "VERY NICE" unit for the money. Take care of it, follow the instructions and it will serve you well. Only thing is I use a 50ft extension cord to get it away from the camping area, it is slightly louder than some other small units, "but" for the money and a long cord, "no problem"! June 28, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This generator serves it's purpose and is super quiet Was a skeptic but once i fired it up at the Bama game it was as quiet as the higher priced Hondas. I reccomend you try this one out before you spend the extra dough on the name espeially when you get the same quality and value for the need. I would reccomend this to all can't wait for the power to go out so I can watch the TV and not have to listen to the roar of the generator I ha before I purchased the Generac brand. This unit is lightweight and user friendly just turn the gas on and plug the cord(s) in and you are ready for a quiet and peaceful tailgate at your favorite teams campus. November 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice unit A bit cramped near the oil fill but that's to be expected with a small unit. Started easily and ran smoothly under load of a 24" drum fan. I haven't put it through it's paces yet but my initial impression is good. March 17, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Works but not great ECO mode barely changes anything on my new one, my old one just like this worked better for about 3 weeks then it stopped making electric all together so i exchanged it. Although it was replaced with the same type of generator they run different the old one ran smooth the new vibrates heavily while on either mode loaded or not. I would not recommend this generator and will be returning this one to get my money back. November 3, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I had to fix a brand new generator Picked it up at the HD in perfect condition. We opened the box in the parking lot to check for damage. A very strong odor of gasoline came out of the box. I thought the item might be used but not the case it was new. I pulled the spark plug to check condition. The plug is OK but the gap is incorrect. I set the gap to .030. Added oil and started up after 3 pulls. The voltage output is good @ 122.4 -122.7 volts. The engine is not running correctly, it is surging without a load. let run for awhile still surging. Shut down and let cool. Pulled the air box off and sprayed carb with Gumout carb cleaner, closed choke and let it soak for 20 minutes. Sprayed more carb cleaner and closed choke. put the airbox back on. Restarted and after a few minutes it ran nice. Voltage remained the same. Operated TV (220w) for about an hour no static, very clean power. Ran a string trimmer (500w) on Econ, RPM takes a dive and then recovers to operate the trimmer with plenty of Power. After 4 hrs I changed the oil. I notice plastic shavings in side the supplied funnel. How sad, they shipped it from China with gas in the Carb. How hard is it to gap the plug correctly. What else is screwed up. Definitely no QC. I am holding my breath because we need this to run our pellet stove during the winter. May 31, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent portable generator! I bought this as a demo unit from Brand New Engines. It essantially is a brand new reconditioned generator. I put in the oil, and seafoam treated premium gas, primed the IX800, one pull and it started. Put a 750 watt load on the gen - and it revved up and powered the lights without problem. The gen does change RPM up and down - this is how an inverter is supposed to work. I have owned at least 5 generators - Kohler, Honda, Tecumseh powered craftsman and a China Honad clone. This works as well, weighs much less and does what it is supposed to do. It's quiet enough. Is it super -duper quiet? No but is is quieter that my 4 ton AC unit. Remember though - this is a gas engine powered item and will have fuel issues if you let old gas sit in it. Seafoam has never let me down! July 1, 2012
