Does each light/bar represent a PPM?

Does each light/bar represent a PPM?
Asked by: Joe
Since the gas detectors work on a large array of combustible gasses, there is no direct correlation between the bars and exact ppm readings.

Customer Reviews

Combustible Gas Leak Detector for Extreme Environments is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Device Overall This device comes with a quick start guide that covers some initial steps to get the detector setup. The device works well and only requires an initial charge to be setup. For finding leaks it is solid. It would be nice if there was some additional information provided with the device. The basic functions and features are covered but there is no gauge to what sensor readings mean besides a level meter. I was new to this type of device and purchased it to check gas levels in my basement. I set the initial sensor at the most sensitive setting, started it outside in fresh air and then entered my home to test. It works well but if you are looking for a readout with more specifics you may want to read up and make sure this is what you are looking for. Overall the device is easy to use but hard to understand the gauge levels or other specifics. Leak detection works well for pipes or other systems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the Detector didn't work The detector didn't work. I charged the batteries and it still wouldn't work. every time I turned it on it would shut off itself. The good thing was that I didn't have to send it back. I was able to return it to the nearest Home Depot store.
