Whether dressing-up ceilings, adding decorative elements to cabinetry or enhancing door and window hoods, Generals Crown King jig enables cutting precise joining angles every time. Its distinct design eliminates confusing upside-down miter box positioning and compound angle cutting, enabling fast and easy production of interior and exterior corner joints. With its 38/52° insert, the Crown King enables cutting the three most common crown molding spring angles.

  • Removes annoying trial and error and streamlines the creation of crown molding since crown stock is orientated in the crown king jig the same way it is installed so it’s easier to visualize and plan cuts, no flipping stock or inverting angles
  • Crown king jig eliminates the need for confusing upside-down miter box positioning, compound-angle cutting, complicated compound miter angle calculations, coping of joints, back-cuts and auxiliary fences
  • Features adaptor for 52° and 38° spring angle crown stock or remove adapter to cut 45° spring angle crown
  • Create perfectly fitting interior and exterior crown moulding joints
  • End-user needs only to rotate the saw blade to the angle corresponding to the corner of the walls
  • 4-simple steps: (1) measure the interior (INT) and exterior (EXT) corners using the included angle finder/protractor, (2) set the saw blade direction as indicated on the top of the jig, then set the blade at 1/2 of the measured angle, (3) hold moldings securely in the jig and make the cut using an electric or hand miter saw, (4) test fit and then install crown molding
  • Includes handy angle finder/protractor
  • Suitable for electrical miter saws, radial and table saws and adjustable manual miter saws
  • Professionally cut crown molding joints, easily and precisely

I am trying to cut the correct angle for my diagonal wall cabinet, which is 45 degrees. I have tried so many times to get this angle and I can't seem to figure it out. I was wondering if I could use this jig to cut these angles using the same concept as if the angle was 90 degrees. That all i would need to do is set my miter at 22.5.

Please confirm that I can use it to cut the angles for above the glass cabinet..

Thank you in advance
J

Answer:
Yes you can use this to cut 45 degree angles - but beware that this is dependent on you knowing the spring angle of your molding.

Answer:
This jig is designed to hold the molding in in the same exact position for cutting every time. It will accommodate the most common spring angles. If I understand your question correctly, the angle at which you make your cut is going to be determined by what you set your miter saw to. Good Luck with your project!

If you are trying to cut crown molding then absolutely, that is what this jig is made for. And it makes it so easy. Just follow the directions for ONLY this fixture and ignore all other directions, hints and advice. I loaned mine to a friend to put up crown molding and he struggled because he did not follow the directions but listened to others. Once he followed only the directions for this jig he raved about how easy it is. Make sure you use the correct angle insert and enjoy using the jig.
If you are cutting something rectangle or square you should not need this jig at all.

Answer:
No this will not work for sloped ceilings. I doubt there is any kind of jig that works for sloped ceilings. You will need to scribe your connecting angles and then cope them by hand.

Answer:
Yes. You only need a miter angle with this jig. The bevel angle is not necessary.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 24 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finally, I have crown moulding! I do not have spatial abilities, so, although I've wanted crown moulding, I've made do with border paper and other (boring) effects. Not anymore! This jig came with super clear instructions (I did watch the youtube vid, but I think the sheet would have been enough). I have an old house, so nothing is plumb, and I have a very cheap power miter saw, so getting exact angles wasn't possible, but with this jig and a little caulk and spackle, my ceiling now looks great! Really, if you are comfortable with a power miter saw, you will be able to use this jig. And for under $20? It may be the best buy I've made for my old house. Two things: First, the jig includes a useful protractor (so I can return the one I bought) and, second, no one could find this in the store (even when I bought it online for in-store pick-up). I finally found it back in the mouldings endcap, where they sell turned feet, etc., on one of the higher shelves. April 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Removes the confustion Takes all the confusion out of the cuts. To those who are splintering their cuts, perhaps using a sharp finish blade will give you better results, my cuts came out perfect. As the saying goes, use the right tool for the job, which this definitely is. March 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Crown Cuts EVERYTIME YIKES!!!!! I practiced and practiced on piece after piece on my $600 compound Dewalt chop saw with littl success. Now, it was determined that our best action if we didnt want to go thru our alotment of crown moulding for "practice cuts" we better try this jig. Well, after a short review of their simple instructions.... We went to work. NOT ONE FLAW cutting with this simple to use, and easily explained instructions. Thank the company that decided to make available a simple, inexpensive ($18.99) jig that takes the guess work out of the installation of crown mouldings. Yippie, now I can get on with my vacation!!! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I wanted This jig works well to hold the crown at the correct angle for cutting and it is somewhat idiot proof because the crown is held right side up in the jig - same as it goes on the wall. I didn't like the fact that the cut is made from the back side of the crown to the face side - which means the edges of the cut tend to splinter on the side that shows. I considered buying a finer saw blade, but decided to return the Crown King and order the Bench Dog instead. The Bench Dog holds the crown upside down - just like you would do if not using a jig, therefore the cut will start on the face side which will result in a cleaner cut on the side that shows. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Tool! Helped simplify cutting crown molding for a beginner. I wouldn't do another project with out it. October 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by You don't have to be scared of crown molding anymore! I am not a professional contractor who finishes the inside of houses on a daily basis. That being said crown molding is something I can do but I always end up getting frustrated and scrapping material because of bad cuts. This little plastic tool takes all of that away. Once you get going it gives you a sense of confidence, knowing your making the cut you want to make. People like the look of crown molding but most do not feel it is a project they could do themselves, let me tell you, this makes that project much easier and much faster. For $20 it is a no brainer. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great jig Excellent jig with clear instructions on how to use it. Once you figure out the spring angle of the molding, you set the yellow spacer to the appropriate angle and just follow the orientation of the illustrated angles on the top of the jig for the interior and exterior, left and right corners. So simple to use and very glad I got this. February 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good basic tool but the angle measuring device is off This tool is effective in simplifying the cuts and is worth it for that purpose. One really odd thing is that the protractor scale is backward on the cheap plastic device they give you to measure the wall angle. If the angle subtended by the device is actually greater than 90 degrees, the scale indicates less than 90 degrees and vice versa, and no I wasn't reading anything backward. For this reason I gave it 4 stars. December 3, 2015
