CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.4 out of 5 by 32 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An excellent tool! Don't be fooled by the naysayers, I just received this and easily and accurately mortised two deadbolts and a pull on a door where there was zero room for error. Just read the instructions (duh!) make sure you oil the spindle before use and you will be fine. This is a keeper. April 9, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not aligned Initial intention was to use it for perpendicular drilling and since it has scales on both sides I was expecting it would be easy for this tool. Unfortunately, plastic base was improperly fabricated and bent so setting 90 deg on one side caused another side to go to 87 deg. If you force both sides to be 90 deg then sliding guides jam the bit and it won't go all the way down. April 4, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by It broke It is an adequate tool. Somewhat wobbly but this is likely inherent in its design. I used it perhaps for 30 holes and it bound up-now it is useless. June 16, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk I bought this on clearance from my local HD. My Dad had a tool similar to this one that was all aluminum and worked great. This one though is all plastic the slides stick from one side to the other to the point it is unusable, and the screws also fall out of it in the toolbox rendering it useless. April 14, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your money Absolute garbage - chuck bearing bound up after drilling two holes. January 17, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A Guide That Doesn't I picked this up to add some bench-dog holes to a new set of workbenches that I had built. Assembly was easy, but I quickly noticed that the bearing for the chuck was not ideal for this. Once I chucked up a bit, and this to my drill, the end of the bit moved in an almost 1/8" circle. Also, when assembling the guide, I set both sides to zero, but it was clearly not square. March 15, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Drill guide with chuck To able to accurately repeat drilling an angle over and over again without adjusting or worry about slipping saved me a lot of time on my project. Easy to use. However the angle guide needs to be better. I had to rely on a separate tool to get the correct angle. February 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Good idea, bad design Good idea, but bad design. Slide is a bit sticky, but I eased this with some silicon lube. The hinge mechanism allows easy adjustment for the desired angle, but doesn't keep the guide aligned from side-to-side. Unfortunately, it's not possible to position a square against the slide rails. It is also difficult to read angle gauge as it is inside the rails and obscured by body of the guide. Won't be using it again. June 26, 2013
