Answer:
Frankly, no.
There is no adjustment for different wood thicknesses and defaults to one setting best used for 3/4 stock. You won't get the right angle for joining 2X4s. It really is a badly made, terrible tool.

Answer:
This is a badly made tool with no adjustable setting for different wood thicknesses. You'll waste time, money and wood.
Pay about 10 bucks less and get a 20 dollar kreg. It lasts forever and will be accurate each time.

EZ Pro Deluxe Pocket Hole Jig Kit is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality I bought one of these because I liked that the clamp was integrated with the jig. After only about a dozen holes the tip of the drill bit broke off. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and took it back for another, and again after about a dozen holes the tip broke off the bit in the same way. The second time I took it back and spent an extra $10 for the better known brand of pocket hole jig and have had zero problems through hundreds of holes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inexpensive Pocket Hole Jig This pocket hole jig, at about one-forth the price of others, works very well. It's aluminum, not plastic. I like that. It's small and doesn't have a bunch of clever features. It just does what it is designed to do. I have seen some criticism of the drill bit wearing out - give me a break - all drill bits ware out, you just replace the bit. It does what it's designed to do -'nough said.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from pocket holes Good product that does a great job. This is my second one because they only last for x number of holes.(uncertain how many x represents) but 1st one lasted me over a year! Thanks

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great beginner pocket hole jig. For the price you can't beat it. It works like it should. My one and only complaint is that it doesn't have a way to adjust for material thickness. But besides that it's great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid product Used product to drill pocket holes to build bedside table, and product performed perfectly. Expect a little bit of metal shavings from the first couple drills, because the drill bit has to be trimmed down by the jig

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works well but lacks awesomeness I was in the market for a pocket hole jig and of course saw the Kreg and it's high price. I immediately started looking for a cheaper alternative. This was one of the options. In short I bought it and ended up returning it because it was a little janky. They cut corners to make a cheap alternative to the high-price one mentioned above. The clamping mechanism is no bueno. Nothing beats an actual clamp. The wing-nut thumb-screw just doesn't hold. It'll help you get the holes you want but I would NOT recommend this for lots of holes. You'll go nuts in frustration. Spend the $ on the higher price one, keep your sanity, and do pro pocket holes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool, easy to use I read the reviews between this and more expensive products before purchasing for about two weeks. I decided to purchase this to work on a project of building a queen bed. Boy am I happy I did. The tool was easy to use, just slap in the board and make the pocket holes. I did make a few mistakes on some scrap pieces and did see some metal shavings, but that was more my inexperience than a flaw in the tool's design. Hold the drill level, everything works great. Once I figured it out on the scraps of wood, I was making every joint with pocket screws and gorilla glue. I am happy with the way the project turned out. I was able to turn a 4 or 5 day project that would have used dowels and glue into a 2 day project using this pocket screws and glue. I have attached a picture.
