Product Overview

Genesis is the last ceiling panel you'll ever need to install. Genesis ceiling panels are manufactured from cellular PVC with both smooth and textured surfaces available. The Designer Series ceiling panels offer styles that go way beyond the standard ceiling tile, but still offer the same great benefits.

  • Genesis panels resist rust, corrosion, water, mold, mildew and bacteria
  • The panels are made of virgin-grade PVC vinyl and work with most standard 15/16 in. grid systems
  • Genesis will not spot, stain, rot, swell or peel due to moisture
  • They are impact resistant and are available in 2 ft. x 2 ft. panels

Hello. Can these flexible plastic tiles be screwed directly to ceiling joists? Have a very low clearance unfinished basement ceiling that I want to cover. Wondering if these will sag.

Answer:
Hello and thank you for your interest in our product. The Genesis Ceiling Panels are designed to be installed into a grid system, not directly applied to the joists. We do have our Surface mount grid system available as well. Please feel free to contact our customer care team at 800.434.3750 for any further questions or needed assistance. Thanks again.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product Ceiling panels were very nice. They fit well in the suspended ceiling grid and cut easily with large tin snips. Vinyl material should ensure that water issues will not develop in bathroom humidity. If I was able to see them in store prior to online sale I would not have procrastinated. They are all we had hoped for. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product LIGHT WEIGHT, MOISTURE PROOF AND EASY TO INSTALL. Delivery time was great. June 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just as expected Looks good, easy to install, this review summary is too small August 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This sure added a touch of class to the kitchen! My husband and I decided we wanted to upgrade our kitchen condo ceiling by taking out the old fluorescent bank lighting and instead, install tray ceiling lighting, complete with decorative PVC trim to provide indirect/recessed lighting (purchased from Home Depot). We also added a small fan in the center of the 4 X 8 opening, again from Home Depot. I found that Home Depot, online, sold antique white PVC ceiling tiles that really caught my eye. This is a thicker product than normally sold in Home Depot, and quite inexpensive. We glued the 2' X 4' panels to the ceiling. What a beautiful difference it made! We've had nothing but rave reviews from family and friends! Every day it is a delight to see our "updated kitchen" that was inexpensive and easy to do. March 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by easy update We are updating our kitchen which had hang down ugly fluorescent lighting. We discovered if we removed the panels, it was finished above. We put the silver tile backsplash and thought we wanted to put it on the ceiling but that would be over $500. I found this cheaper option with the same design in white for a little over a quarter of that price. Looks great, was light and easy to glue up with Liquid nails ultra grip (quick drying) and a little double stick tape. The only thing we ran into is the pieces are very slightly off and hard to align but we just went over the seams with white silicone and it fixed that all up. Easy and done in a few hours. One before and several after shots below. August 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks Amazing! These tiles transformed my ugly drop ceiling (in the master bedroom of all places!) in the new house we bought! Unfortunately the way the bedroom was remodeled it would take too much work to fix the original ceiling and walls, so we decided to leave the drop ceiling instead. These tiles look great, they are easy to cut and place. The reason for the quality not being a 5 is I dropped one (on carpet) and it cracked. Otherwise, they will definitely hold up better than regular fiber tiles and will clean up nicely if ever soiled. We did have a time finding grid pieces to fit the old grid, as our original grid was 2x4 and was built differently. We ended up buying the standard ones that are out there now, and cutting them to fit with tin snips. December 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bathroom celing This product was perfect for what I needed it for! December 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ceiling Tiles Thanks for the Home Depot online site we would have never seen this site on the tiles we ordered. We have now turned our basement into a den and now have a 1800 sq., ft. home now. July 22, 2015
