Hello and thank you for your interest in our product. Although we do not guaranty the results and have not tested painting the panels, some primers and paints are specifically formulated for plastics, including PVC. For example: Krylon® Fusion, Valspar® and Rustoleum® manufacture a plastic primer that can be applied and then a standard latex or acrylic paint can be used as a topcoat. There are other primers and paint that are designed to cover vinyl siding that may work.
Generally, paints that are mostly acrylic-based are the best as they stick to the vinyl better without cracking or chipping off. Urethane-modified acrylic paint also works well. Do not use poor quality latex or oil-based paints as they will not expand and contract with the surfaces and will crack and chip. Please feel free to contact our customer care team at 800.434.3750 for any further questions or needed assistance. Thank you!

Answer:
You need to determine your layout to figure out how many tiles you need. Even though you have 403sq. /ft you will probably need more than 403sq. ft of tile, as some tiles may need to be cut. Each case comes with 12 tiles. Each tile is 4 sqft . You can buy per-a-tile, not per-a-case. I was shipped a case of tiles plus some additional loose tiles as I ordered an odd number. No issues in shipping.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EASY TO WORK WITH & LOOK GREAT My husband & I installed some of these in a small area of our home along with the surface mount vinyl grid. My husband was very pleased with the results. I was the designated tile cutter, and must say it was very easy and not messy. The project we did was only an 8x8 area where someone stepped between the joists in the attic and made a big hole in the 2nd floor ceiling. It took just a few hours from start to finish. I think it would have taken much longer to cut out the damage evenly, replace sheet rock, tape, mud, sand, re-texturize, and paint it to do the repairs the old conventional way. I, too, am quite pleased with the results. August 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product Very easy to work with, looks great. Love it. Tiles are durable, cut with a knife or you can drill them, they are about 1/4" thick April 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The quality of the product is outstanding. I was having the dropped ceiling in my one bathroom replaced. After looking at many panels and receiving a sample of the Genesis panel, I was sold on the Genesis product. The price was higher than other panels, but the quality was well worth paying more. My installer was very impressed with the product. August 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding product Replaced the old type of false ceiling 2x2 tiles that get dirty and stained and you can not wash or clean with these new PVC ceiling tiles and they are absolutely outstanding. They are easy to trim in those special places, durable, easy to clean and they fit perfect. I recommend that you use this product and you will be thrilled with them. June 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality Tile These are a quality ceiling tile. Look and feel much better than the typical cheap drop ceiling tiles. Tiles cut clean with a sharp blade, makes for easy resizing. Nice upgrade from regular cheap drop ceiling tiles. May 12, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Was exactly as advertised These were shipped intact and fairly quickly. They were exactly as advertised. easy to cut by utility knife and installed in tight clearance bathroom ceiling. February 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My greatest find Throughout the entire process of finishing my basement, I bought a lot of products, but this item was my greatest find. I never heard of it, nor found it in any store. I actually researched "ceiling tiles" on google. I was trying to find something more durable than the flimsy fiberboard stuff in stores. It seemed like a waste of money, it swells, cracks, stains...and its aweful for your health to breath that stuff in. But finally I came across this product through their website and I was pleased to see that all major home stores sell it-- but as a special online order only. I ordered a sample piece and was sold. For the price, a few bucks more than that fiberboard junk, you are getting an incredible value. This stuff WILL last. Incredible easy to work with too. Used a razor knife. No dusts or pollutants dispersed in the air while you work either. My contractor was pleased about that. He too was floored by the product and keeps a sample in his truck for future customers. One of whom I heard used it and was also pleased. Look no further for your next ceiling tile. It would be foolish to buy anything else. June 28, 2013
