5 in. Random Orbital Sander is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sander After using an older model sander by a different company for many projects this one works like a dream! The velcro pads stick on and actually stay on (unlike my old one where they flew off every couple minutes). I appreciate that it include three starter pads of different grits. It's easy to handle and doesn't leave my arm with a weird tingly feeling like the last one did after so much vibration. I also really like the dust bag collector which my old one didn't have. The quality of the actual sanding it does its good as well. I wish I had invested in a new sander years ago. It would have saved hours of my life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Sander I'm not a power user and don't do a lot of building, so I have made it through my little projects fairly well so far with a little Black & Decker Mouse sander. When you have larger jobs, though, it takes a lot of time and patience. I got this for those times when I just need to strip or smooth something out in a hurry or do the bulk of the job, and then finish up with the Mouse. This sander is a whiz! It uses "hoop and loop" (velcro) sanding discs that stick easily to the sander, just like the mouse, but I can get so many other grits to work with. The collection bag leaves a lot to be desired, but I didn't actually expect it to work. I'm happy to add this sander to my meager collection of tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why pay more? I'm impressed with how well this sander works for the price. I love the hook and loop system for changing sand paper. Just pull off the old one and stick on the new one. It is so quick you won't waste any time. This sander has plenty of power for that medium duty sanding job. The key is to let the sander do the work. Don't press down hard on it. The palm grip is rubberized for comfort. It also includes a dust bag. The on-off switch is protected from dust. And it comes with a 2 year warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Sander I've owned a few orbital sanders in my day and none are/were better than this one. It's solid, a good weight, and works like a charm. Out of the box it comes with 3 sanding pads: 80 grit, 100 grit and 120 grit, which is a great start for most woodworking projects. I immediately used mine to finish a table i was building for a friend; it worked as expected with no hassle or fuss. Fits well into your hand and doesn't overly vibrate and seems to have a tough motor that can take some long term use. As with most dust bags on appliances this one only works so-so, but dust is not a big problem with this type of sander.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good entry level sander This is a fine entry level sander. With a 2 amp motor, it is definitively not the most powerful on the market, but it will get the occasional sanding job done. As for any entry level product, I tend do discard the original sanding discs and replace them with some quality ones such as Diablos, it makes a massive difference. I also use a respirator which makes the sanding process somewhat bearable. The dust collector works just OK as many of these random orbital sanders, and I much prefer to hook the sander directly to a shop vac by simply using duct tape, not very pretty but works fine. Overall, this is a very fine product for the price. The product will get most jobs done for the weekend dyer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits My Hand! I enjoy using this little orbital sander. It fits my hand and is easy for me to move around my work area. It would fit a little better if the top portion had an indention for my fingers, but all-in-all, as a women using the sander, it fit my hand. It came with a dust catcher bag but as the other review I've read, it may work better if I connect it to my Shop Vac. It also came with 3 sanding discs that are easy to remove and change out. Would I purchase again? Yes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the Right Size This is my first orbital sander for my tool box. Having used other brands before, this sander is very basic but can get the job done. The sander comes with a 3-Piece Sanding Disc assortment so it's ready to use right out of the box. The hook and loop paper change system is great for fast paper changes. The rubber like palm grip is perfect for my hand. I am pleased with this little guy and believe it will be a great addition to my tool box.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sander but confused about discs I love how the round sheet of “sandpaper” attach to the sander. They just stick to the sander with a Velcro like attachment or as they call it in the manual, a “hook-and-loop” attachment. I have another orbital sander and that has to clamp on rectangular pieces of sandpaper. That is really awkward to do but it does have the advantage of using regular sheets of sandpaper. The round ones go on really well. I was going to rent a floor sander to redo my bedroom floor but I think I might just use this one now. The floor isn’t in that bad shape so I think this sander can do it. I called customer service to find out what kind of sandpaper disc I should use as I thought they would be specially designed for this tool. I was told you can buy them in any hardware store. When I looked at the Home Depot website though I was confused. There are some without holes, some with different hole configurations, some that say they screw on and some that seem to be stick on. I ended up emailing the company and a guy emailed me a few times. For some reason they don’t have the sanding discs listed on their website for sale – they just have polishing discs listed. I was still a little confused but I’ll just take one of the discs to Home Depot and check with them.
