I have a bent extension screw from an older model (purchased around 2001), but the extension kit is discontinued. However, in more recent models, the screw should have the same diameter and thread, but not necessarily the same length.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A little information about installation I was reading a question answered by Genie and its still a bit confusing. I used it to actually shorten my rail for a one piece door so I took the stock center piece out and added just this foot. When you look at it you automatically think the screw goes in the section of channel it comes with. It doesn't, spread your current screw out and just add this in the middle of existing channel, then simply add the extra piece of channel to the end to hold the screw you just exposed spreading them in the middle. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Why? Why didn't this come with the original equipment? If you want to install the opener on a 8ft door, you must have it. It is an added expense. Otherwise, it installed and works fine. May 15, 2012
