Is the chain a continuous chain or is it in sections?

Asked by: susie
The chain is one piece. Mine failed right out of the box and I retruned it.

Does the chainlift 600 have the soft start and stop feature

Asked by: Ron
I don't what that "feature" is, however, mine doesn't jerk open or slam shut. If this helps, fine - if not, sorry.

Customer Reviews

ChainLift 600 1/2 HPc DC Motor Chain Drive Garage Door Opener is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from product is a small unit and very quiet I bought this as a gift for my husband. He had it up and working in, honestly, 20 minutes. It is very quiet and works great for our garage. Matter of fact I am headed back to replace mine with one (just have not had the time to go yet).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent opener I upgraded from a Chamberlain that died. I had considered the belt version of the Genie 600 but I read how that model has a plastic part that's prone to breaking, so I went with this chain version. I was able to reuse the mount over the garage door and the door bracket, which saved some time. Nothing unusual with the installation: bolt the track together, finalize the mounting and do the wiring. It's a pretty quiet unit, and I like how it slows down just before it reaches one of the end points. The adjustment buttons are also on the underside (instead of the backside), which is more convenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value Surprisingly quiet operation. I had been contemplating buying a belt-drive model to ensure quietness, but this model is plenty quiet, for much less money than a belt-drive. Instructions were easy to follow for installation, and I had it up and running by myself in less than an afternoon. Quite pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very easy to install. This opener was very easy to install. It's also very quiet! The only negative is that it takes ages to go up and down. We are using it for a two stall door though. And the range of the remote is poor. We have to literally drive the car right up to the door for it to work. It came with plenty of wire and tacks to install the sensors and opener button. The instructions were very easy to read and understand. It took a few hours start to finish, but never ran into any problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent. I purchased this unit because of the price. But was extremely hesitant about the 1/2hp and whether or not it will be a good system. I was quite surprised after getting installed. It worked well and 1/2hp was more than enough power to pull up my heavy 2-car double garage door. The motor was strong and didn't look like it was struggling at all. What surprised me the most was that it was very very quiet. Glad i made the purchase and saved myself a few hundred bucks from not buying the higher end models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced my old Genie with this one had it up and working in about two hours. Bought two Genies when I bought my house about 14 years ago and replaced mine with this Genie. The wifes Genie is still working perfect. Very happy with the Genie brand. I really like the intellicode. Will purchase another unit like this when the wifes' quits working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Genie Chainlift 600 install I'm impressed with this opener. It requires only nominal tool knowledge to install and is very technologically advanced. As long as you follow the instructions line by line you won't have any problems. If you don't, you will. For example, the door opener button has a circuit board on its backside. If you don't first adjust the up and down travel of the door, the button will not function. If you don't match polarity connections for the electric eyes they won't function. Read and use the manual! All the final adjustments are very easy using push buttons located on the bottom side of the motor housing. I bought two and feel I got great value for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the price All and all for the money this opener is good. It was easy to install took my son less than an hour. It's very quiet during operation. It's slow to open and you must be fairly close to the garage when you push the button to open the door. For me that is in the street in front of our house.
