Love the DC motor. When you press the button, you have to look at the door to see it move since there's no sound at all in the first inches of rising. There was a challenge in the installation which a phone call to the help line solved. (hint: when setting the up and down limits, when the directions say "Hold both buttons for ten seconds," don't give up after just ten - hold them for fifteen or twenty until the light you want to see illuminates). If you can abide a door that moves a little slowly, this opener is great.

Surprisingly quiet operation. I had been contemplating buying a belt-drive model to ensure quietness, but this model is plenty quiet, for much less money than a belt-drive. Instructions were easy to follow for installation, and I had it up and running by myself in less than an afternoon. Quite pleased.

I received this unit within 3 days of original on-line order. I installed it yesterday and installation was very easy. I replaced an opener that was almost 30 yrs old. Of course I'm not sure this one will live that long, but it certainly is quiet and powerful. I'm going to order 2 more for the other doors in my garage. They are all replacements so the bracketing and above door pivot point is already established. I needed to lengthen the motorhead support as this unti is very compact, a nice feature. It was easy to program (after I read the instructions) and it works great.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MrNatural Genie Chainlift 600 install
I'm impressed with this opener. It requires only nominal tool knowledge to install and is very technologically advanced. As long as you follow the instructions line by line you won't have any problems. If you don't, you will. For example, the door opener button has a circuit board on its backside. If you don't first adjust the up and down travel of the door, the button will not function. If you don't match polarity connections for the electric eyes they won't function. Read and use the manual! All the final adjustments are very easy using push buttons located on the bottom side of the motor housing. I bought two and feel I got great value for the price.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hybrid24 Decent opener
I upgraded from a Chamberlain that died. I had considered the belt version of the Genie 600 but I read how that model has a plastic part that's prone to breaking, so I went with this chain version. I was able to reuse the mount over the garage door and the door bracket, which saved some time. Nothing unusual with the installation: bolt the track together, finalize the mounting and do the wiring.
It's a pretty quiet unit, and I like how it slows down just before it reaches one of the end points. The adjustment buttons are also on the underside (instead of the backside), which is more convenient.

This opener is a piece of garbage. I bought 2 for $99 each and they both stopped working. I couldnt find any installers that would install it, they all refused to install this brand and I should have taken that as a hint. So I had the home depot install it for me, they worked for 1 year and like clockwork, they have both stopped working properly shortly after the warranty was up.( one has a chewed up gear, the other has a broken limit switch)
Genie technical support is terrible and have no interest in helping us.
Stick to any other brand
Stay away from this brand
