Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by Edward Genie Screw drive garage noise down significantly
I will echo what everyone else said. If you have a Genie Screw Drive garage door, you will need this. I have one that wasn't lubricated in at least 3 years and it made a huge racket whenever it opened and I just assumed it was normal until a friend of mine came over and suggested I use a lubricant. I looked it up, found this (which came in a package of 3), used up 1 of the tubes (with a little to spare), and the noise level went down significantly. Whereas before my garage door sounded like it was screaming (yet tolerable), it's now more of a gentle growl...

If you have a Genie screw drive door opener buy this. Ours is nearly two years old and, when it started making noise a year ago I could not find this lubricant and used another plastic-safe synthetic lube. Big mistake: The opener would be quite for a few days and then would make an awful racket. I ended up dismantling the rails of the opener, cleaning off the non-Genie lube with soap and water (fearing solvents would damage the poly coating) and then buying and applying this product, the Genie-specific lube. Went on easy and works perfectly. Lesson learned. Not cheap but there are three tubes in the package and it is definitely worth it.

Works great on my garage door, and has used it on regular doors in my house, car doors, an wall lockers an all stopped squeaking. This is amazing stuff.

After reading the manuel about our new garage door and having to lubricate the drivescrew, I immediately went to Home Depot website and ordered some. Was pleasantly surprised it had free shipping too. Had no problem applying the product and am pleased with the results. I would highly recommend this product to others. Recieved it in a week too.

This Genie Lube should be used at least once a year on your Genie garage screw drives and just running a little dab along its entire length does the job. Of course the mess is cleaning the old lube off the screw drives with paper towles before you put new lube on. Ah, now it runs real quiet too! Highly Recommended.
