Product Overview

Lithi-Tek LS 9500 is the most advanced, industrial strength, penetrating concrete and masonry waterproofing sealer ever formulated. This unique formula incorporates leading molecular nanotechnology, putting an end to water and moisture migration through any porous cementitious substrate. Lithi-Tek LS 9500 is a uniquely transparent, blended formula with added enzymes and surfactants that aide in accelerating a deeper penetrating disbursement. Thus eliciting a more effective, uniformed chemical reaction between this formula and the concrete / masonry substrate it's being applied to. Surpassing anything else on the market the Lithi-Tek LS 9500 treats and seals from the inside out; strengthening the concrete as well as providing an oleo-phobic environment on the surface that will not chip, flake and delaminate or breakdown with UV light exposure. Do not apply to polished concrete, extremely smooth concrete surfaces, or concrete that has been previously sealed without chemically etching or mechanically scarifying the surface to allow for absorption. Please use caution when applying the Lithi-Tek LS 9500. If this product is applied in excess a surface discoloration may result.

  • Concentrated: 1-gal. makes 5-gal. and covers up to 1000 sq. ft. 2 coats are recommended
  • Resists water and moisture intrusion, becomes an integral part of the concrete, forming a complete body of strength and durability with 100% of the results occurring below the surface, penetrates deeply and seals concretes capillary tracts and shrinkage cracks reducing the growth of mold and mildew and the spread of radon
  • Effectively resists hydrostatic pressure and the spread of vapor transmission, increases concrete's compressive strength, combats Alkali Silica Reaction (ASR), efflorescence attacks are reduced
  • Seals hairline and shrinkage cracks rather than merely masking or bridging them, waterproofing properties remain intact even if the surface is damaged
  • Dries clear, the color and look of the concrete will not change after sealing resulting in 100% transparent surface, easy to apply, labor-cost effective, nontoxic, no VOC's and no harmful fumes, not to be used on cinderblocks/concrete blocks, not to be used on bricks, use the Siloxa-Tek 8500
  • Online Price includes Paint Care fee in the following states: CA, CO, CT, ME, MN, OR, RI, VT

Answer:
Because the concrete is 30+ years old you would be better sealing it in a 2 step process. First apply a stand alone densifier such as the Lithi-Tek 4500 followed by a hydrophobic sealer such as the Siloxa-Tek 8500. It is a 2 step process but the results will be exceptional.

After it has been densified applying the Lithi-Tek LS 9500 will ensure that it is sealed, it will keep water infiltration out, which in return will result in a cleaner looking surface with less opportunity for mold, mildew and organic growth to inhabit it. The only con of the 9500 is it does not protect against deicing salts, chloride ion ingress (salt infiltration) is highly degrading to concrete and over time will break down it's strength and integrity resulting in unsightly spalling and pitting on the surface. No, the Lithi-Tek LS 9500 works great for poured and cast in place concrete but because it is a hybrid lithium based, penetrating reactive sealer it relies heavily on calcium hydroxide (also known as portlandite) a byproduct of cement hydration in order to produce C-S-H (calcium silicate hydrate) the same binding element that results from adding water to cement in order to be completely effective. Concrete pavers and tiles that are mass produced lack the correct ratio of calcium hydroxide and are exceptionally porous so the better choice for effectively sealing and waterproofing these substrates are a high solids silane/siloxane such as the Siloxa-Tek 8500 or Siloxa-Tek 8505. Both of these options are penetrating and will render the concrete waterproof since silanes and siloxanes are very hydrophobic but neither rely on calcium hydroxide being present in order to be effective. The result is a better hydrophobic surface environment and a drier balcony. Read Less

You can paint on top of the Lithi-Tek LS 9500 as long as you use an oil based or enamel based paint. If not you will need to apply a primer such as zinser or kills prior to using a latex based paint.

The sealer dries clear but if over applied you may end up with a blotchy appearance, this does not effect the sealers performance however if applied uneven it is not as aesthetically pleasing. Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 34 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Very Well Product mixed easily. I applied it with a cheap tank sprayer. Went on well and very quickly. I did about 1,000 SQ FT. It has it's chemical effect very quickly. I noticed where I had some overspray the second coat would already not soak into the surface. I observed the water resistant effect the first time it rained. Water simply beads up. It will not soak in. I applied the product to the sidewalk in front of my house, but only to my property line. I cut off the application at a joint in the cement. I have attached a picture of the area where my application ended after having thrown a bucket of water on it. It's easy to see on the bottom, light color cement because of no penetration, on the top, dark color because the water soaks into the untreated cement. These results sell everyone who looks at it on the product. I have sealed concreate driveways since 2005 and this is the best results I have ever seen. And the price is less than the sealer the cement contractor wanted to sell me. (Diamond coat or something like that) If this product lasts like promised it will put all other similar products out of business. I applied this at the end of June, 2016. August 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very capable concrete sealant I have a broken concrete patio that through the years has become very much a moss garden -- especially on the grout between the broken concrete chunks. That made it very difficult to keep clean. I power washed the patio and, once dry, applied this sealant. It does indeed appear to provide a water proof barrier as the water does bead after a rainfall. In another year or so I'll know how good its purported algae/moss growth retardant capabilities work. The sealant was very easy to apply and, just as advertised, it does not discolor the concrete in any way. When dry the concrete looks exactly like it did before the sealant was applied. I'm thus far very pleased with this purchase. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works as expected. The Invisible Penetrating Concrete Sealer repels salty water (sodium chloride) really well. My garage walls were falling apart in several areas. I removed all the excess concrete that was loose and repaired the affected areas. I applied the Invisible Penetrating Concrete Sealer on the repaired area last year. I was surprised to how well it was repelling the salt water over the winter. Previously, I would have noticed the crumbling of loose concrete but there nothing after the application. I bought some more to protect the remainder of the walls and the floor. September 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So far so good. Let me start out that I have over 3000 sq ft of driveway and patio and I agree with some others, that I had some discoloration (streaking) after applying. But the product clearly states if too much is applied, this can happen. I applied with a sprayer which probably contributed to some over application. I also notice it lightening up after a couple days and a rain. Water rolls right off the drive now and if the product does what it states as far as strengthening - I'll be very pleased! August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Product and Great Value Had six year old concrete with green growths. Power washed it just using H2O, let dry two days and spray applied the sealer. Coverage was as expected and controllable using a two gallon sprayer and following instruction. Product is clear and concrete beads water like a great car wax on your vehicle. Highly recommend. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product. Very impressed. I used this on poured , stamped concrete around our entire house. It was a snap to mix, I used a sprayer to apply. It covered a large area. The concrete sucked it right up! I applied 2 coats..and BAM. My wall is protected. I did pressure wash it--to clear mildew off some areas first--and let it dry completely. I can't comment on longevity, but--am extremely pleased with the product. You have no idea it's there, UNTIL it rains. I have 3 patios and a pool deck to protect next---..and you better believe I will use a Ghostshield product. I was advised to use the 8500, but went with the highest rated product. It's a little costly, BUT..I do not plan on doing this again while I own this home..and wanted a professional result. August 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best concrete sealer At first glance this product seems to be extremely expensive. But after you realize that one gallon must be mixed with four gallons of water in order to work, the price is less than $20.00 a gallon , which is very competitive with other products. It is very easy to apply. It dries very quickly. And can be walked on immediately. I found that when you apply it you must overlap quickly or it will dry and the second coat will not penetrate the first coat. So you must overlap coats before the first coat dries. I put it on when it was hot out and found out the hard way. The second coat, where I overlapped, beaded up like water on the hood of a newly waved car. I just pulled the beads off and on to a spot that wasn't coated. The best part of this product (besides the fact that it works as advertised) is the warranty. IT IS GAURANTEED TO WORK FOR 100 YEARS!!!. Yes I would recommend this product to a friend. It's the best! August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good Good product. Be sure to do the second coat within few minutes of the first August 9, 2016
